I have been using gaomon pd1560 (not pro) for a couple of years quite happily and you are definitely spot on with this review. Bought it because it was cheapest at that time. Calibration is my biggest concern but I agree it is not a real deal breaker. I dont have any plans to upgrade until the 1440p tablets start to get cheap. The more expensive tablets have a lot of "nice to haves" but not something I am willing to pay for. Battery powered pen is not ideal but you can still charge while using the pen (a few minutes of charging can last quite a long time). Running out of battery is very rare though because when fully charged it can last for quite a while. Just plug it in while typing something or having coffee. I would like to point out that the official drivers are outdated but I discovered that I can actually download the latest drivers of a different model and it still will work. Hey Grant, thank you for being very honest with your review. I am aware a lot of youtube tablet reviewers are afraid to point out the negatives so that tablet makers continue to send them freebies.

very thankful for the honest review! i've been doing some research for black friday, and most reviewers i've listened to have been rather wishy-washy on the negatives. this one felt reassuring!

You mentioned the new xppen drivers Im loving them Convinced me to use xppen as I love the profiles on my old wacom Just some bugs sometimes, but overall great experience

I have the Gaomon 1561 and the parallax is brutal, but you get used to it. The screen-protector certainly protects the screen underneath, but it scratches pretty much with every-use and after awhile the screen builds-up a cloudy-appearance from all the scratches. It's not necessarily-noticeable when working, but it looks like someone took a Brillo-pad to it when it is off.

I paid a lot for a Yiynova, and a Uion and had a lot of problems, even when reviewers said where great, now I'm eskeptical about this miracle new tablets

yeah xp pen seems the best for compatibility. I have had no luck with huion recently

I had an issue with a smaller Huion drawing Tablet where the cursor didn’t match where I had the pen on the pad. I also had to continuously redo the software so that my computer picked up the pen. I was zooming in constantly just to draw a straight line when in reality all I wanted to do was draw. It took away from me enjoying my drawing tablet overall. Needless to say the pad is in a box in a Rubbermaid bin, inside my storage unit 2 hours away from home. 🤦🏽‍♀️

This tablet help me to improve my art since 2 years :) the pen battery still working and yes, the parallax is not the best but the result is always great with Clip studio paint =) if you want, you can check my work on Internet, just need to search "Ukiyograph" ^^ thank you Grant Abitt, thanks to you I can compare my tablet with others ! ^^

Hello Grant. I want to ask I can't draw but want to do hand painting textures and I will need a tablet. Do you recommend buying a tablet even tho I don't know how to draw to do hand painting?

i definitely think its worth getting used to. With a little bit of practice you'll find its much better and you'll find you can actually draw more than you think. Maybe take a look at my kickstarter about learning to draw :)

Sounds like a bug. Check latest drivers and contact gaomon if continues

it does depend on your desk space but i think 16 inch is probably the best for most. I like to have 22-24 personally though

Also, you didn't mention anything about wiring in the review. Like, what cable/s it uses, that can be important, for example just 1 usb c would be ideal, but 1 hdmi and 2 usb for power an input is very annoying.

I think the tablet will work on linux if the tablet have Android support, because linux and Android have the same kernel I try huion pen tablet with Android support in ubuntu and it's work
