I think Kirk and Nop are very much alike. Kirk says he is doing all this for Sam, but doesn't include her in it because she doesn't agree. He pushes his feelings onto her, although she pushes him away every single time. He asked about her marriage to him, and she clearly showed her displeasure. When she didn't want to hang out with him, he used an errand for her grandmother to force her into it. He proposes to her in public without discussing it, though her rejection could cause a scene at Jim's wedding, so he cornered her. Now he has enlisted Mon, and I think he's abusing his power as her boss. Nop did all these things for Mon, but it was in his own self interest in order to endear her to him. He claims to be worried about her whereabouts because he's concerned for her, but it's possessive. I think him hanging around her house when she isn't around is also to get the support of her parents. She said they aren't dating, but he didn't get it until Sam came into the picture. When faced with rejection, again only taken serious because of Sam's existence, he grabbed her. She plainly told him that he was hurting her, but he was too focused on himself and being right. Both of them say their motives are pure, but I don't think they are. Not liking either of them tbh.

Funny you say that.. I have a different opinion. I feel like Krik and Mon are actually the same. They're both somehow special to Sam, they both know how to crack Sam's code of communications, they know Sam well, they know Sam since they were kids, they fell for Sam as they were still kids, and Sam has soft spot for both. Krik clearly understands that Sam always expresses herself in the exact opposite of what she means. I'm afraid at the same time that Krik misunderstands Sam and took all those cold shoulders as hidden affection for him, which is kinda sad. Because the difference between Krik and Mon is Sam doesn't have interest in men, I don't think. She loves Mon.

To make it more clear, it's not really weird in Asian countries if you have never kissed your partner before marriage In fact, in a lot of Asian countries it's frowned upon to even kiss in public even if you are legally married IDK how Thailand is like but I live in an Asian country and I know the culture So it's not weird that Kirk and Sam have never kissed even when they are engaged

For your question, Thai culture doesn't have any standard of what color the bride and groom wear during the wedding. Usually, what happens is that the couple will select the theme color, in this case, red, as the primary color and put in the invitation for the guest to select the clothes accordingly. Red is also common for weddings if the family has Chinese heritage. Light Brown, Creme, and Light Gold shade are also common for Thai-style weddings. More on the proposal during the wedding, it is not considered rude by any means, but usually, it should be discussed with the bride/groom first before attempting the proposal. What Kirk did was unexpected and might disrupt the schedule slightly, but not rude or disrespectful. How arranged marriage works, at least in Thailand, is that there would be a family gathering and discussion around the topic, mainly with the parents/guardians at the table. The proposal might happen or not depending on how much the elderly are involved in the situation. As you see, it is not just the couple's decision but the family's decision. In the old days, the man would ask the lady and the lady's parents for her hand in marriage; if the lady and the parents agreed, he brought his parents to discuss the arrangements and whether the engagement ceremony might happen or not afterward but both parties are considered engaged. In some cases, the arrangement might happen since they were really young, and the marriage happens many years later, which means that the couple didn't really have the decision power in the matter at all. In Sam's case, this discussion might already happen a while ago (like 1-3 years), but casually, and since they had been engaged for a while, people started asking when they would get married.

@@vickyreacts No problem at all. As a Thai who lives in the US, I sometimes encounter this cultural difference as well, which makes life fascinating and exciting. These things are also hard to learn outside of the country, so I am happy that I helped you understand a little bit more. I am also one of the followers of the novel's writer, so I have read it since it came out many years ago. They changed many things from the novel to fit more into today's society and actors and, somehow, make things more dramatic in some aspects. One thing that I want to explain is the character of Sam as a royal descendant since it might not be shown/explained fully in the series. It is hard for the viewer to understand her fully since it needs a lot of cultural context to understand why she was doing things a certain way. In Thailand, the royal family still plays a significant role in politics, with some people seeing them as special. And the thing about the royal family is that they have a specific tradition or facade they need to keep. This includes how to act, talk, walk, and everything (similar to the British royal family, both are comparable). They even have what is called Royal Thai Cuisine, which people believe is what the royal family ate in the old days. That's why Sam was prevented by her grandmother from doing many things in her life which would be considered improper as a royal. This might also include how she should refrain from showing her true feeling in front of the crowd. That's why she needs to beat around the bush to get what she wants, or even if she does something, she will try to give herself a reason to make it more proper, and that's why her behavior comes out ridiculously. And if you think about it, if someone grew up in such a heavily controlled environment, they would lack many skills. In Sam's case, she doesn't know how to express herself to others and she interprets something weirdly. One scene that a lot of people missed the meaning of it is the scene where Sam was playing on a swing by herself. That scene speaks a lot since she might not have had many chances to play like a child before, and playing on the swing would be considered not ladylike in the old days. That scene tries to communicate that she can only be herself and does what she wants when nobody is watching her, as you see that she stops when Mon approaches her with the ice cream. I probably can write a whole essay about analyzing the series, lol.

Knowing all of this makes me love Khun Sam even more as a character, she finally is starting to be able to express herself and show happiness and that swing scene was a huge deal to me as she is showing a bit of her true, pure heart that's been so damaged and suppressed by her grandmother and that royal upbringing, I actually cried at that scene

The first point of the list to make up with her girlfriend was " Apologize sincerely", but she ignores that one and tries others. The house where Mon lives in is her parents' house. And when Nam says "how can you know? You don't spend the whole day with her" she is wrong because Mon spends her nights with Sam during the week. Because, I don't know if you noticed, but Sam said "I told you to come home together" she doesn't say "I asked you to go to my house together".

I think the dog scene was cute and sensual at the same time, I think that was the purpose. Because clearly Sam is thirsty for Mon. I don’t think the dog thing was gringe or awkward or even humiliation, Mon ask her like a joke and she was surprised when saw Sam doing it. This episode had my emotions on a whole roller coaster ride, but your reaction made watching those much more funny this time around 😂 Fun fact: the whole troll on Facebook thing is because Kirk was liking and commenting on Mon’s FB, and Sam did not like it causing a “war” between the two on FB. Since the two don’t know each others FB handle, neither of them know the other was fighting with each other. It also shows that Sam does not want Kirk to have her FB info because her only friend is Mon, and if Kirk had it he would find out all that’s been going on between them. To answer one of your questions when Jim was talking about her wedding, I truly do believe she was talking to Mon and Sam because between 56:10 and 56:25, if you look closely, you can see Jim’s eyes going between Sam and Mon when speaking about it. It then pans to Mon who turns her face away, and then to Kirk whose smile fades whilst looking both at Mon and Sam. I think I’ve watched one too many reactions to this episode. I swear I pick up something new every time 😂 I definitely enjoyed this reaction. You are one of the people I always look forward to watching, and don’t worry about your upload schedule everyone has busy lives, and we understand. Cannot wait for episode 7 because that ending killed me and I need to know how this is all going to play out

We never see their interactions fully but that first night after the karaoke room Tee and Yuki started seeing each other. They sprinkle little hints throughout the episodes to let us know that they are together if you really pay attention....

As I commented on others of your reactions, there are a lot of things that changed. For example, in the novel: - Kirk cheats on Sam and Mon finds out but Kirk asks Mon not to tell Sam. - Kirk knows very well that Sam doesn’t love him. Actually the only reason they’re engaged is because they made a deal when they were young, they would get married if neither of them had found someone they loved. And because Sam was going to be forced into marriage anyway, so it was better for her to do it with someone she knew than with a stranger. - In the novel Kirk’s marriage proposal is never in front of so many people. He proposes to Sam when they are leaving the wedding and the only person who sees the proposal is Mon (who by the way cries when she sees this) - Kade’s attitude (Sam’s friend) was changed, even if Sam’s friends are chaotic when they are together, in the novel Kade always tries to help Sam and Mon and when she sees them kissing, Kade somehow tries to make Sam understand certain things but still try not to make her feel bad. Among Sam’s friends I would say that Kade is like the most focused or reasonable (in the novel)...

I was happy (because of F&M's cute interaction), confused and surprised (by the whole pup "licking" its owner situation), proud (because M stood up for herself and made it pretty clear when she wasn't ok with S's behaviour/words), sad (because of the whole proposal stunt pulled by the wannabe husband especially during someone's else's wedding reception 🤷), hopeful (because i've heard their seperation won't last very long). I think the being a dog was a way of getting back at Sam from Mon. Mon didn't think Sam would ever do it, but Sam called her bluff and took advantage of what she gets to do as a dog 😂. But also, at the end if the day, Sam just wanted to appease Mon. So yeah......totallt whipped lol. 😅

This is my 3rd time to watch a reaction fr 3 diff personalities. I like the way you express your opinion and I noticed your sincerity (& interest) in viewing the episode (definitely not for the clout). Some scenes were overacted by friends of Sam & work mates of Mon but are acceptable for an Asian romcom story. Here we can see how crazy Sam is with Mon to do stupid things for her. She recorded a video for Mon (is it supposed to be funny or cute? -- tho I didn't get it, perhaps it was made to show how silly Sam can be for Mon) Even Sam as a dog was quite ridiculous but it went for Sam's advantage. (Mon's room is open while they're making out) Sam barely expresses her emotions. She googled girlfriend but she cld not readily admit that to Mon thus the mention of sisters, & the derogatory "servant" for a relationship. With regard to the wedding- they had an earlier formal wedding ceremony and what you are viewing is the party after the ceremony. The bride is already wearing her party dress in that scene. Ref 55:40 on your video Kirk's proposal was definitely inappropriate, he shldve respected the occasion & not steal the show fr the married couple. Flaw: -on earlier scene when they were caught kissing, how did Jim know abt the lip biting game? -why did Kirk fetch Mon & Yuki? (Are they close friends?) Even Sam asked abt this 😂 I expect progress on their kissing scene as they shld move to another level fr the lip biting game. Generally, it is fun to watch & I laughed so hard on how Sam apologized (?) to Jim. Kudos to the producer & to the 2 lead actors. Looking forward for the coming episodes with your reactions/reviews.

I don't know if i remember it right, but in the novel the lip biting game came from sam friends but not in a suggestion way. And kirk is a bit close to mon after mon caught him with another woman, who he's cheating with but in the series is Nita. The series has a really big difference between the novel.

Good morning all, I have reviewed the comments and for the most part we're on the same page. - I think Nop is a good friend, but still working on his heartbreak - Kirk is a lot more complicated, but still not trustworthy. I try to understand how in our era a grown wealthy man is waiting around for his "friend" to marry him after five years. Is it the royal ranking? He is doing something with Nita without Sam's knowledge that requires a contract and shares. Is he trying to get the shares from Sam through marriage? I don't think Nita is interested in Kirk at all, but he is close to Sam so...she also checked out Mon. Doesn't seem to be interested in dudes. When Kirk touched Mon's shoulder I almost lost it. He knows that is too intimate. He could have waved his hands or moved into her line of sight if the music was loud. Now, if anyone saw that they could infer a closeness that doesn't exist. I feel like he is a trickster - Mon's character is wishy-washy to me. I understand how a lot of people are not educated about romantic encounters, however, at 23 or 24, she should have at least seen a movie or two. She's smart and I hope they build her intelligence up a bit more. She went from intern to administer in less than a week, how can she not catch on to the fear of ghosts and the lip balm situations without assistance. I hope she doesn't give up on Sam as I feel a plot twist coming 😁 There is a lot of speculation regarding a new season with them and a baby going around. I would love to see them as they grow together, but with the current Thai government not recognizing same sex marriages how will they protect themselves, their work and any potential children? As for the insinuating posts that they are really a couple. If it's true great 👍, if not kudos to the marketing department and the actresses for their great performances. Happy Kwanzaa!

It's like watching with a friend. Idk for me, Sam's engagement is more like an arrangement. Sam doesn't want to get engaged to a stranger so Kirk is a convenient choice. She knows him. It's also a way for her to fulfill Grandma's wish and her duty as a granddaughter. It was made clear Sam doesn't see Kirk as a romantic option. She doesn't even like his touch so I have hard time imagining they're physically intimate as to even sharing a kiss so I wasn't confused when Sam said that to Mon over the phone. For me, mainly the reason Mon backtracked was she was feeling insecure in that moment. That was her insecurity talking. I can't help but to think they undo all those good dynamic between Krik and Sam from episode 1 and 2. I thought there was always an understanding between the two of them that they're not exclusive and just for the public/Grandma. Turns out, this Krik is just the same as the Krik in the novel whom I despise, well minus the cheating and the snob. Krik wearing a white suit is a jerk move.. on top of him proposing to someone who is clearly not reciprocating, although I doubt he knows. He's just super dense, exactly like Sam.. I dunno..... I dunno about you peeps, I don't like this episode. Seems a bit incoherent than other episodes before. I didn't cry at all, but my heart arched for Mon. Like truly. I kinda want her to just give up. Tho I think I gotta give credit to Krik that now Sam will realize something crucial about her own feelings and desire for Mon. Also, we're actively missing TeeYuki actions cuz apparently the production scrapped their arc completely. The result was awkward cuts of some scenes and cutting both Tee and Yuki's screentime significantly, both as a couple and individual.

So with the dress thing, cus I think she is a Thai Chinese so that why she chose red. Cus in Chinese culture they use red as the symbolic colour for weddings. But if they were going to do a more cultural Thai thing then she would have worn a more Thai traditional dressing. So this thing is like a fusion wedding which is a mix of western but also Chinese background.
