Simple things are sooo very important when learning how to fly FPV. I am ready to praise all over this video so get ready. You answered a very important question to me (and I believe others. The point is when in manual mode and you bank right AND RETURN THE STICK TO CENTER, the aircraft maintains the attitude of the bank. Returning to center does NOT correct to level (one must counter to left). That was huge. Secondly, YOU USED THE DRONE AS A VISUAL AID in your explanation. This is also huge for a beginner. KEEP DOING THIS. Only one recommendation. As you use the drone for visual aid and talk through a maneuver, slow down your speech. This is very important. Instructional speech is not like a conversation where you fly though your communications. It's always at a half-step, almost like you're speaking to a third grader. I am a principle system engineer and I provided technical demonstrations to other technical engineers and CEOs alike. When one can make complex ideas, or principles simple enough for the audience to digest, you're communicating at that point. You communicated to me and I believe a lot others through this video. I thank you! Keep using the drone as a visual aide and using your "instructional voice" Thanks a mint!

Back in the Marines we called it ‘breaking it down Barney style.’ This is a great series and I’m super stoked. I just ordered a DJI fpv today mainly for the googles. I’ve been flying camera drones busting the shit out of them cutting gaps. Can’t wait to take it to the next level of breaking shit on the quest for perfection. No pain no gain!!!

My dad bout the same drone and I learned how to fly better than his 20+ years of flying experience with this drone in manual mode (full control) in about a week and I only actually flew it (in manual) completely unlocked once and wowed him, this drone comes with a free flight simulator (you don’t need the drone you just need a phone but it connects to the headset that comes with the drone and controller as well

I feel my son did alot better just starting with a whoop, it was so small and safe he crashed it over and over then by the end of the week he could fly full acro.. Then moved straight on to 5inch racers no problems and now he's getting better than me hahaha. He never did any sim time at all and neither did I to learn, just a Tinyhawk.

Its perfect for beginners if they respect the learning process, you cant fly acro in a week. Buuuut if you spend a few months building up skills there is no limit on what this drone can do compared to spending a couple hundred on some cheap or decent gear that you will outgrow soon, plus it comes with an accurate sim.

I think you'd be better off just getting a whoop. You can learn to bind all that stuff easily mate, it would be a good learning exercise for you and your kids to show them how to over come a challenging obstacle. My son and I had a great time learning and it was a very bonding experience to go through all the frustration together and feel that elation of your first build taking flight.

Mate get into real life flight the sims are good but wait till you fly real world physics. Totally different. Sims don’t account for battery sag so don’t think you can rip a battery and the performance is the same as it runs down cause it’s not a power loop at the start will need a certain throttle value but nearer the end you gunna need more

Gonna be super intersting to see how that thing is gonna hold up a beginner practising ACRO Freestyle on it. I think if the 2.0 of that FPV drone got like modular swapable arms & Motors you just click in, a rock solid core and all the mavic functionality like automatic follow mode, 90° down angle, obstacle avoidance in RTH etc. ) this is actually a great direction to go for those who just wanna fly. Might have not spend the last 3 months, hours of time and tons of my money on DIY quads if that existed already.

Start with an emax tinyhawk2 bundle, maybe? Gives you a taste of fpv without all the overhead of a 5". I just helped a friend (with "too many hobbies") get started this way.

I did it. Using DRL simulator and the DJI controller... i was able to fly Acro. The most difficult part was realizing less is more. Throttle; less is more, Rates; less is definitely more especially Yaw. The whole thing is sorta like gliding, cutting throttle at the right time and pitching and throttling at the right amount. One thing i dont like.. the sticks feel too tiny and my wrists hurt after a few hours. If i could id mod the sticks to be longer. I also realize what Vanover was saying about the gimbal being too small. But yea bro, ive figured out how to do dives, etc. The videos y'all have done over the years showing the stick controls helped. Definitely a skill flying FPV.....pinching the controls >_> feels more natural. but the wrist pain is real. WTF DJI. Only other thing i wish is that the Goggles worked in DRL too

Late reply, but if you haven't figured it out yet just attach the short usb cable adapter to your goggles, connect that to the longer usb which is then put into your phone. Load up the DJI Fly app and it'll connect the feed.

So much negativity and calling out RR, yet these same people still watch the video. If you don't like it, don't watch it....Simple I bought the DJI FPV, found the hobby (Which I wouldn't have) and have now bought a 'Real' quad. I will learn to build my own, as will lots of other people. Arguments can be made from both side, but there is clearly more people coming to the hobby, because of DJI and the likes of RR, which is clearly the purpose of this series.

Thanks for asking this, cause that's what I was wondering. My guess is dji allowed it for their fpv drone system and not for air units or caddex systems. It's super lame, cause if you own the air unit or caddex system and want to share to someone while you have the goggles on you have to buy the $750 smart controller.

That Feature comes with the goggles V2 but only with the DJI Drone. Hope thes will unlock it for air unit feed too.

I do not like this dji drone, I hate the deceit dji said about the hdmi, why do we have to buy certain things to get full use. To me it seems dji doesn't care about the FPV community and they won't budge. Rotor Riot gets paid from them so they have to make these videos and make it look fun. Most true fpv pilots will stay away from this drone and I can't wait till another company makes digital so we can ditch dji
