Garage Built Awning Bracket - Did It Even Survive One Year?

Update on the garage built aluminum bracket to fit my awning to the Prinsu roof rack.
The brazing had cracked on one, but the two bolts were holding the two pieces of the bracket together. This prompted me to tig weld both brackets. There has been no indication for the need to add bracing/supports inside the brackets. In fact, I want the brackets to be the weak link if the awning were to hit something - to absorb the impact. Still no issues - and the awning took a lot of impacts/was snagged on my recent KAT trip while on an extremely narrow trail (broke the handle off my shovel mounted on the back of the bed rack).
