The PSE (Exhaust) button also opens the sound symposer that lets induction noise into the cabin. That's the change in sound that people hear when pressing that button. Disconnecting the valves or using a valve controller is great because it allows you to turn on/off the PSE button to enable/disable the sound symposer for a bit more audible control.

100%. You don't really need the valve controller and you don't need to cap off (engine side of firewall) nor plug the symposer (cabin side) just disconnect the valves and leave the button off. There's an ongoing battle between how many times I actually use my VC to close my valves and how many times the top is ever up on my Spyder. In 2 years, I've closed my valves twice and put my top up...thrice.

I also thought when the PSE button is pressed it opens the valves sooner vs when its not pressed. Example 3rd gear PSE on valves open at 4100rpm vs 5k rpm pse off.

koken tools has a real awesome small ratchet that I think is a half inch drive basically that little ratchet you had in your hand Matt but I think it was a half inch drive head to it which is awesome for trying to do spark plugs especially on flat six motors!

I looked at the 42-minute runtime, and I was like, ehhh. It turned out to be a very entertaining video. Thanks for the hands-on experience.

Does the vacuum source not have to plugged after removing the line? Otherwise you will end up with a vacuum leak?

Great video, love the fact that you take us through the whole process. Would love to do this mod myself but here in Europe it's not that easy... Still waiting for that video you were going to do "tomorrow" with some flyby's though 😂

MATT! Big magnetic tray / several varied sizes of magnetic trays would be best. EVERYTHING goes in the tray, at ALL times. Parts, tools, everything. If it’s not in the hand it is in the magnetic tray (or put away).

So removing the vacuum line doesn’t throw a check engine code?
@ObsessedGarage Жыл бұрын
It doesn't. There's no ECU monitoring for that line.

Any thoughts of adding the DSC controller as well?? I remember you loving it in the past and I think would compliment the GTS well
@4liter7 ай бұрын
I was going to do this but ended up just plugging the vac lines on my 718 Spyder. You obviously lose the controllability of it but kinda loud but great sounding all the time isn’t a bad thing 😂 And it’s free.

The light blue one in the foreground? I am usually just listening to these rather than watching the whole thing. That said, the light blue cart is a Hazet.

How do you feel about Mac tools Matt?
@ObsessedGarage Жыл бұрын
I won't outright say that Mac tools aren't good. But there are definitely better options. In my opinion I would rank them around the same level as Snap-on, if not slightly lower.

U gotta hold the spoiler button down for like 20 seconds ... it will start flashing... continue holding and it will go down. Dumb design. Too much drone with stock rear box to pull vac line. Collar mod it 50%.
