I always find it kind of cute how Michael has these "perfect lines" that he tries to use in specific situations, for example when he says the "Would you do me the honor..." when he proposed to his real estate agent and I believe he used that line in other times too lol. He must have seen it on a movie at some point and thought it was romantic and wanted to use it for his own proposal xD

I rooted for these two so hard, more than I did for Jim and Pam or Dwight and Angela. She’s just absolutely perfect for him; she’s girl Michael. but she is just the best parts of Michael

People can fight me on this, but I think Michael and Holly’s proposal is the best one of the series. I get why Jim and Pam’s was the way that it was, but I remember just tearing up harder over this episode than when Pam and Jim got engaged. I remember being happy when it happened in a “ YES! IT’S HAPPENING!!” In a sort of way. But I guess for as much as I liked Jim and Pam’s relationship growth, I was more involved in Michael and Holly. When the series was first airing and the episode after they broke up I was just so upset that they took Holly away from Michael. When Steve Carrell decided to leave the show, my first thought at the announcement was “he better end up with Holly!” So it made me happy to see them give Michael the growth and send off to be with her. Imo it was perfect in how they handled Michael’s character arcs and send off

I always thought the paper from Creed was just his fake Schrute Bucks from Season 3. Always glad Jim and Pam got the clown painting down at some point.

This episode is the "beginning of the end" for Michael Scott in the Office. He's shown growth and maturity as the season's progressed and we've reached full Michael maturity. He's mature enough now to realize that the world doesn't revolve around him. He's found the love of his life and is ready to upend his life for her. His proposal has echoes of Jim's proposal to Pam with "rain" pouring down. And Michael finally verbalizes that he's moving on, making this the beginning of the end.

2 years ago Me being 16 watching the office i thought micheal was lucky to be sleeping with jan and in a relationship. Now at 18 i realise that he was in a toxic relationship and that holly was the best thing to happen to him

1. Angela's books look like the "left behind" series which, if you aren't old like me, was a very popular book series in the 90s in christian circles particularly. Angela Martin definitely would have owned the whole series. 2. Michael also fake fires Erin when he comes back to dunder mifflin from Michael Scott paper company. 3. I also think it's interesting that the garage sale is reminiscent of the crime aid episode where their relationship is destroyed by David Wallace. He sees Michael and holly kissing and that is the beginning of them being separated. Now they are in the same spot and it's the beginning of their life together. 4. i love the proposal but i will never forgive the writers for not giving us a Michael Scott wedding.

Think there's a deeper meaning with that clown painting? It held together the Halpert household all those years. Then once Jim removes it, the cracks in their "foundation" begin to form.

I think making the episode so busy was actually a good move, so that when you're watching for the first time (or don't remember it) the last part with the proposal hits you harder, like you watching a normal episode bustling with mundane stuff and jokes, and then the gears suddenly shift and your jaw drops ❤

For the 1st time, watching this video, I caught something really cool - I can see the candle in the Dwight swapping stuff as a foreshadowing of the Michael-Holly proposal, with those candles. Another nice touch along with the sale items pointed out in the video.

Yes. The Hank bit is my favorite of this episode. I don’t rewatch it too much. It’s not a “comfortable” episode for me to watch constantly. It’s okay, just have a memorable scene. This is definitely one of the episodes of The Office ever made. Nothing more, nothing less. Great ending scene though.

I got a diff view point about materials and money. I shopped for eBay a bunch of comic card sets. I also bought a bunch of nine card pages and I bought two two inch three ring binders. I filled both binders spending I don't know how much. Then sold both for only a 100 total

“I love this episode but I hate this episode.” Yep. This and the next few episodes are great but then comes DeAngelo, Robert California, mean Andy, The Farm episode, etc. looking back- I want to say the office could have kept going as strong but maybe just not with the scripts they were given?

Yeah I think for as many people who say that, there’s also the flip side. It reminds me of the time that I was riding my bike, as a kid, down a steep hillside. There was a giant rock directly in the path, so I decided that I needed to divert from the path. When I checked to the right, I was scared by how many divots and thickets were there. On the left side, the hill got much closer to the river that flowed near the path. I was kind of freaking out, but then I remembered that this is KZbin and the stakes are really really low. Thanks for your feedback, guy.
