Garage Therapy v Gyeon. Which is best? How do you use them? Detailing tips and advice for your car

Which is better? Gyeon or Garage Therapy? Is it that simple? Do they compete or compliment each other?
Gyeon and Garage Therapy are two of the most respected detailing product brands and features waxes, ceramic coatings, spray sealants, quick detailers, ceramic detailers and cleaning products of the highest quality. In this video I will explain how I use them on my daily drivers and show cars as well as my classic Golf GTI Rivage. We here in thd UK are really quite lucky in having access to possibly a dozen world class detailing products and as such are spoilt for choice .... for me it boils down to eass of purchase and I will buy either Infinity Wax or Gyeon Products as my local shop stocks both along with the like of Bilt Hamber whereas for Garage Therapy and others my only options are to buy online and I prefer to support my local shop

We live remotely so have no local shops plus I like buying from nice people and GT (and Gyeon) fit that nicely. Also why I’ll never buy infinity wax but I speak as I find 😉 And customer service from them was pretty dire in my experience with them. Choice is good though. Thanks for watching

@thegolfdiaries1123 .... I'm sorry to hear about your experience with Infinity Wax as many other people, both professional and weekend warriors, praise their customer service .... Again it's another brand my local shop stocks along with Gyeon and a few others .... They used to stock a wide range of Poor Boys stuff but it's available to order and have started stocking a new one (to me at least) Starnagloss I think it is.

I happened across your channel by chance and really enjoyed the comparison of a couple of brands that I have and do use fairly regularly. I am based near Glasgow and have Angelwax and Mitchell & King on my doorstep so I use a lot of their products as I am a wax guy but do like sealants on non family cars that I look after as a hobby in my retirement mainly in the colder months. I liked and subbed your channel and will look up your back catalogue. I have started to use Auto Finesse Triple overlaid with Gyeon Ceramic detailer on my door shuts to good effect. I have taken my GT products out of their retirement lately and if I was not such an avid wax collector I would probably use the GT range of CS, Sigma and QD as my go to regime. I look forward to your future content and the growth of your channel.

They’re nice guys too so that makes it all the better in my opinion. Lots of other brands to test and I’ll always hold them up against GT for performance and value. Interesting video mark, I've never tried any gyeon products yet . Might have to get some of there quick detailer and see how what it's like on my golf. Can never have enough gloss on a black car . Want to try the gyeon wet coat as well,as I do a bit of valeting at weekends. Think I've done every car on my road know lol 😀 . All my neighbours can't believe how clean my golf is considering it's age and mileage. Good luck with the golf cabriolet restoration. Had a MK2 golf 1.8GL before my GTi ,loved it and that was immaculate to.

Yeah foams up lovely with just one cap full no need for any strong wheel cleaners and I use with their wheel mitt which I also can't fault

All good product's but the two Gyeon products are very similar so could you just get away with using just the one ? Quick detailer v ceramic detailer

For sure yes. For me they are slightly different use cases but you could use one for all. The ceramic offers more protection and has a slightly crisper look (marginal) but the QD is the king of gloss so ideal if best possible looks are the goal over protection. Thanks for watching

The quick detailer can be used to clean the car, not a wash, as a dust remover if you've washed the car and it's been parked in the car since then and just wish to freshen it up ....not something the ceramic could be used for

I have been a GT customer from the start and I find it hard to choose between GT and Gyeon. If I had to pick one product that is better, it would be the Gyeon Ceramic Detailer, Sigma V2 is harder to apply I prefered V1. Gyeon PPF protect is nice product to apply and has great gloss and water behaviour but it is so expensive.

Great comparison and I have the GT and Gyeon quick detailers as well as sigma and cancoat. I'd agree with all your points but you lost me when saying 3cs last but it had been topped with sigma and quick detailer. 1st question is why? 2nd question is how do you know 3cs last that long if your seeing the behaviour of all the toppers?

Thanks for watching. 3CS on its own with no toppers tested for 2 years on my Caddy (as per my other video) lasted 6-7 months before beginning to slowly degrade and finally dying at 9-10 months. With toppers this will be extended so 10 months is easily doable…maybe more if topped. Upon letting Sigma die (about 6-7 weeks in my experience) there was still some proof of it being there. After that I simply stripped back and started again. As for why I topped it, it’s a detailing channel, I have to test things 😉 Plus as I said in this video, I love detailing so I find it enjoyable

I've never had any success with Garage Therapy 'Two Sigma V2'; every time I've tried it on a panel the result has been difficult to remove 'smears'. I've used less, I've used more but, it always smears and has to be removed using another brand of QD or ceramic spray. I just don't understand it ...

It may be worth speaking to the guys at GT as they may be able to help you. Is it particularly fussy over a particular coating or sealant? Do you use pure shampoos or ones with protection added? It may not be playing nicely with them. Otherwise not sure. Worth dropping them a line on the Facebook GT discussion group

As you may see in some of my other videos, I do use that but since starting to use GT it’s very rare I reach for it in all honesty. Once the current bottle is gone I won’t be buying it again. It’s good, but I prefer a few other QDs these days. Thanks for watching
