People interested in decibel meters American: I need my car rev sound more than 120db. Scandinavian: I need to keep my voice down lower than 75db in late night gaming sessions for not disturbing the neighbors.

If you need to mount another item to the wall that has keyholes on the pack, one trick I have is get a strip of painters tape place on the back of the item and line up the holes, then take a pencil/pen/marker and color in the key hole itself.. then peel off the tape apply to wall/surface for mounting use the markings from the pen, place nails/screws and peel of used tape, mount item, done. (obviously make sure tape spans the whole width of the keyhole spacing..)

Good video!! I just took delivery of one of these yesterday - but it is going BACK tomorrow! At 69-Euros it wasn´t cheap. I am a guitar/singing teacher & got this for classes in my small flat & for my pub gigs. . According to this - i talk at 75db & cough at 120db. - very high compared to a trusted APP on my phone! The calibration micro-pot doesn´t do anything. The photos online look like its a wireless / rechargeable jobby that even comes with a standard Phone charger & TWO FOOT USB cable. It don´t work unplugged - but this problem was solved with a rechargable phone-battery pack - but MY unit still don´t work very well. I misunderstood the instructions that it was a Thermometer & Hydrometer too. That would have been useful as i repair guitars too. Cheers From MADRID

Update. Seems to be working better today. So it is STAYING - mostly cos I can´t be arsed to queue in the Post office to return it. I adjusted the calibration screw in a bit & put some gaffer tape over the mic sensor on the bottom to reduce sensitivity. Set alarm to max&min 130/129 to stop beeper Ambient now reads about 40-45dB. Normal Music from speakers about 60-65dB . Trying to keep E LECTRIC GUITAR down to about 75-80 which is the reason i bought it. Power input jack on mine is on the side so I can have the unit on a shelf 2m from my desk & speakers - plugged into an old 5€ phone battery pack beside it. SORTED. Cheers again !!

There's no such thing as a "trusted app" for measuring spl. Phones have a microphone, you need a pressure transducer to meter dcb with any accuracy.

Great vid! Thinking of putting one up too - do you know how the decibel readings compare to your hand held meters? Just checking if it's an accurate reading from your wall mounted one!

I like this guy more than a friend! I received the identical meter today and since it's all asian words had no clue how to search it... But this guy was the answer. I also used mine too cover a hole. 👍

Was the reading the same (+/-) with your other 2 noise meters?

For a larger range not sure if it would work but I use a SPL Lab meter mine goes to 165db for my speaker setup.

That is a whole lot of not much to make this video last over 10 minutes. It's about the only video I can find of this thing in actual use though, so there's that.
