Garage Workshop Upgrades - New LED lights, new paint, workbench modified and a Myford lathe!

My new garage workshop was in major need of new lights and generally being a good bit brighter so that I can work on the many ongoing projects. Sandtex masonry paint with Screwfix LED strip lights have made a big difference. What do you think???

I've used the same lights in my garage, they make such a difference. Great job on refreshing yours. I've got a bit of garage envy going on. I only have a small single garage at home.

Looking good. I'm still using old T58 flourescent tubes (4 doubles and one over my bench). LEDs are ~20% better as they give ~100 Lumens per W whereas flourescent tubes are ~80 per W. I will make the swap, but I have other projects to prioritise. Like you I also used Sandtex masonry paint inside and when it was clean it was very bright. It is a bit overkill for a garage but a great product. My lights are split diagonal and I don't have the starters in every tube as they are not all necessary all the time. I also find floor paint (I used Ronseal red) to lift. Even with their own sealer and careful prep. I hope your carpet is not rubber backed as this will trap more moisture than plain. I like the twin track shelving and have this in many areas. It's cheap, strong and flexible. Have you considered a pit? Great tour of the workshop and good luck!

Thanks for watching! A pit woukd be amazing but then a whole new shed with a vehicle lift would be better… maybe some day!
