Add a second standard gearbox, behind the existing one, for lower years. Lift suspension all round by 4 inches, to clear the body over the snow and fit wider or double front wheels too. Clutch should be fine, with extra gears. The low center of gravity with wide wheels will be great on slopes

I've done this with an atv in the past. I used 3" lug rubber snowmobile track and wrapped it around a set of 8" rims/tires. These guys should mount the hot side of a turbo to the pinion of an axle and make an "exhaust driveshaft"
@BlackPill-pu4vi2 жыл бұрын
A turbo impeller has almost no power at static and low rpm's. Better to connect the turbo direct to the engine via the flywheel. That will make it a turbo compound engine. Put a starter gear on the turbo shaft and then connect it to the flywheel in place of the starter. You'll have direct conversion of exhaust heat to mechanical energy which means you'll get more efficiency out of the engine. A turbocharger, OTOH, is designed to cram more air-fuel mix into the cylinders and you get more power that way. It is less efficient in terms of converting heat energy into mechanical work.
@BlackPill-pu4vi2 жыл бұрын
And yes, a turbo compound Lada engine will have the problem of starting it. The alternator could be replaced with a motor-generator, which can act as both starter and generator.
@BlackPill-pu4vi2 жыл бұрын
@@shoveI That would work. I'm just basing my idea on the turbo-compound engine that was used in the DC-7 airliner. When it worked, it was awesome. The metallurgy of the time just wasn't up to the task and it was unreliable for passenger service.

Adding tracks on the front, so it would sort of have all four corners floating on top. Or the current tires, sort of cutting through. Which is better? How much benefit would the addition of skis, in place of the front result in? What system could be, for the tires and the skies , either together or engaging skis?

@TylerDuysen2 жыл бұрын
never seen that style track here in the us atleast not that narrow a better way to do this if you have 4x4 is take either a already wide rim or make a wide rim then you take plate steel and weld it to the rim sticking straight up(makes the track ribs) then just weld three crossbars between each rib for strength then it far more balanced and you have way more suspension travel/wheel clearance) you can use the same concept but you use rubber tracks as well instead of building metal ribs dont use on a lada or atleast not without really low rear gears and a low geared transmission they just dont make nowhere near the power to turn the "wheels" correctly
