You're a great teacher! Thanks for the soup to nuts tutorial for us beginners! So many tutorials on youtube either go too fast or down rabbit trails that aren't needed to get started. You struck a great balance of simple, but not too simple.

Great video Rachel, thank you! I haven’t used GarageBand since retiring 3 years ago from teaching high school classroom music , and your video reinforced everything I was familiar with using GB. Since taking up the Bass Ukulele, I have been having so much fun playing bass lines with my husband, who plays guitar. We’ve been playing along to various songs on KZbin, and I was wondering if you might do a video on how to create a backing track in GB for a whole song, either with or without the vocals? Eg. we’ve been playing along to 'Something' by George Harrison and I’m thinking about how I could create a backing track in GB with rhythm, basic chords and the vocals played on keyboard. Thanks again for your wonderful resources🙂
@UkuleleWales Жыл бұрын
Hi Jennifer, wonderful that you are getting back into Garageband. It's a great suggection about a full song backing track but I suspect I might bump into some copyright issues but I will certainly try and do some more general ones.
@jennifertunnicliffe3189 Жыл бұрын
@@UkuleleWales Yes, of course copyright issues would be a concern. General ones would be great😊 thank you Rachel for the wonderful resources that you make available for all of us.
@2000konnie Жыл бұрын
Thank you, Rachel. This was excellent. Do you even make backing tracks for particular songs? I was thinking say a simple (relatively) pop song with a bridge and a chorus.
@UkuleleWales Жыл бұрын
Thanks Janet. I have made backing tracks for particular songs, recently I did a shortened version of Fly Me To The Moon for a video but I also did some more mass play alongs during covid. They tend not to be exact copies and it's difficult to do a video on them as I'd get issues with copyright. Having piano music helps with these but same principal as this vid, jyst getting the right chords really.

Is the loop gone after exporting? If yes, do we have an option during export to say loop it for 2 minutes or so?
@UkuleleWales9 ай бұрын
Yes, if you export it won’t loop but depending on your media player, many of those have an option for looping the file - definitely worth looking at the settings. Eg. VLC, Windows media player. Hope that helps.
@davidhoward8951 Жыл бұрын
Does it have songs like backing tracks that you can play with it
@UkuleleWales Жыл бұрын
It has loops built in which makes making backing tracks quite easy, it doesn't have complete backing tracks built it in but you can make your own.
