These " 'x' years later" videos are very important and more valuable than first impression and initial review videos, imo. People often do not have the chance to test fitness products out before buying them, and these companies generally do not have very reliable return and warranty policies Hope to see more of these videos in the future so that future users can understand how the structural integrity, aesthetics, and/or function of gym products hold up over time

I never understood the preference for 1" holes other than what some think is a cool factor. 5/8" pins and bolts are ridiculously strong and the advantage of 1" spacing is much more practical.

I love my PRX folding rack. Glad I got mine when I did, as I got the 1" holes and the color I wanted (now discontinued). I would have jumped on the full cage folding rack if I didn't have one already. Being able to still use the garage for parking is a must. Worth the investment, imo.

Not having that mounting plate the entire way across presents a problem for someone who does not have common stud spacing the plate across the back kind of addressed that now the end user has to put up back boards on the wall just to mount the rack which potentially makes this more expensive

When evaluating racks for purchase (black friday). It wasn't that PRX was more expensive than others (although they were) but their shipping costs were REALLY HIGH. By the time you were done it ended up being more than Rogue. (and more than a $1000 more than Rep). And PRX is closer to me than Rogue is. Their shipping costs are just brutal, it has to be hurting their sales. Even being accessories it can be like "whoa, what? how much to ship this?"

Hi Coop, love the video (and the channel as a whole)! Could you please review the new Major Lutie Lightning F35 Folding Power Rack? I know the quality of Major Lutie isn't the greatest, but I'm really intrigued with the ability of the post width to be adjusted to allow for wider cable flies as I can't stand doing flies with cables on normal power racks with widths of 47"/49". Thanks!

I love my PRx rack. I had to keep my garage parking due to weather and vehicle security, and this rack is the fastest and easiest to deploy and allow me to still park cars in my garage. I also have the wall mounted weight plate holders, a wall mount for my bands, and a mount for my dip bull horns. I workout at home only one day per week and the rest of my gym sessions are at my commercial gym, but after 3 years of weekly use everything still functions like new. I only set up my garage gym during the pandemic because of the government arresting people working out at gyms and parks where I live, and I am glad I have my high quality home gym that allows me to still use my garage for my cars.

Love the review but man Coop doesn’t put out that many videos a month and then when you talk about repeats it’s just kind of annoying. (Not hating just my personal opinion) we’ve all got one. Nice review GGR Team. I looked into these when I was putting a gym in a NYC condo. I ended up going with stands that I could throw in a closet along with a iron master bench for the ability to do pull ups. I will say, I agree with PRx going with 5/8 for more adjustment. I think they have a good point with the shear strength of 5/8 as well, if > 15,000lbs was applied to that rack at any angle its getting ripped off the wall, and If your not already on the ground level, that's where its headed.

I have a PRX with 1 inch holes, I prefer the 1 inch because I have the dip bar from Rep that goes on like J cup on each side and it fits perfectly so I don’t get that wobble, I was looking into the Rep safety spotter arms so I can get the flat table and connected to this. I just haven’t looked into it much further yet By the way, I do have the PRX dit bar but the whole thing wobbles back-and-forth when I’m using it and I didn’t like that so that’s why I got the rep individual set. Also the reason I chose this over the rogue foldable was because I have a little cement curb in my garage that goes up like 4 inches and the rogue /rep fold over like a page in a book and it would not set flush to the wall. The prx rack lifts up and over my little garage curb along the bast of the wall

I plan on getting the PRx for my Garage so I can workout whenever I want and not have to wait for a specific piece of equipment to become available. I get that you have used every rack but that does not change the strength of the metal. Pretty sure people buy the 1-inch hole rack because they think it is the more premium rack when it is just in your mind. 1 in is extreme overkill for anything that you are doing on a weight rack.
@djbakasan Жыл бұрын
The lack of 1” options is a bad call IMO, especially the fact that they’ve transitioned from having that as an option to now standardizing only on 5/8s. Is it overkill? Perhaps, but the fact of the matter is that part of the benefit of modern 3x3 racks is the interchangeability of attachments (setting aside imperial/metric). There are attachments out there that simply don’t come in 5/8s, come in 5/8s after the fact, or have design compromises at 5/8s (like requiring a channel support instead of a single pin through). Going this route, PRX removes a large swath of options for their customers down the road. You can adapt 5/8s attachments to 1”, you can’t go the other way.

$1200 + Shipping vs $460 for the X3 . More than triple the price. Whatever tiny, inconsequential advantages this may have over the X3, no way they are worth triple the price. This is a rack for people who have so much money they don't care to waste it.

Hey Coop, I am considering this rack and have a question about the compatibility of accessories. I am wondering if I will run into issues finding accessories that are compatible with a 3x3 upright with 5/8 holes. It seems that 5/8 accessories could be more readily available for a 2x3 upright. I could be way off, but figured I would ask because I have never seen you talk about this. My thought is 1” holes go with 3x3 uprights and 5/8 holes go with 2x3 uprights. Do you think I will run into compatibility issues? Thanks!

I have a super-small space, so PRx was really my only option back when I built in early 2021. I will say that while I was very impressed with the build quality on the rack itself...the J-cups and spotter arms were garbage. Horrible fit, awful welds, and only had UHMW on some of the surfaces. Haven't been able to justify replacing them yet, but they're on my list (once I buy the million other things my gym still needs).

Bought my PRx rack during Black Friday deals on 2023. Got the pro rack for an advertised price of $899. I had to pay over a $1200 due to there damn shipping they charge. It is ridiculous. They would not budge on shipping whatsoever. They claim that other big fitness companies charge more for their product but have zero shipping but if you compare hand and hand like this rogue or rep. Rogue and rep have far better all around equipment for cheaper and with free shipping.

So, why to put a misleading title? You are not using it for 5 years, it's just a re-do of the same content. I totally understand your point on the shipping aspect... but to be fair, when it comes to Amazon being the standard now therefore the shipping should be free... I don't agree. Amazon technically doesn't offer free shipping... it's free for prime memberships, and since we all have it and don't think twice about it anymore, we forget all about that. We pay for shipping every month whether we order something or not! But in the end, even if the shipping were included. It's way overpriced for what it is! Especially when you can get an equally good fold out product from very reputable companies at a quarter of the cost or less! Nobody asked them to procure robotic manufacturing contrivances... what's "made in America" worth anyway when it's tooled by a damned robot! :/

No thanks. I'm su cker for quality but these 5/8 inches ain't it. This is a casual rack priced as a hardcore high quality rack. 5/8 inches holes is BETA. The 5/8 attachments will bend if I put the weights I do in these. So, my advice: if you are going to spend on a nice rack. Get a 1 inch rack, like a real man.
