The thing I like to use the slingshot for is overcoming the mental hurdle of pressing a new weight. It lets you feel how it will be when you unrack and part of the way down. So it’s like dipping your toes in.

If you want to mimic the belt squat with a functional trainer you can use a dip belt rather than having to buy that contraption.

He didn’t show the intended way to use it. It has 2 connector straps so that you can load both cable stacks on a functional trainer. It can also load trap bars, straight bars, resistance bands, and more. be careful with the mad spotters guys. I was doing dumbbell presses and i had the bar to high. So, when i tried to get the 80s of the bar it felt like I couldn't move it off. I eventually muscled it off and realized my arms were over extended where i lost my stability and almost had a serious injury with my rotator cuffs. Luckly my wife was there to help re rack the mad spotters, so a serious injury was avoided and was just a pull. Also I've seen advertisements that the mad spotters have a wrap that goes around the dumbbells. unfortunally that does not come with the mad spotters 2.0

I’ve got some power hooks from amazon and they suck big time. The nylon wraps around the db handle messing with your grip. These mad spotters look way better but not sure if I can get them in Europe. Got the Versa grips and like them for dumbbell work. On heavier barbell work (200 kilo +) start slipping and I think my eleiko straps are superior (and way cheapet 😅). The slingshot is a piece of equipment that made sense when I was powerlifting. If you aren’t they have little added benefit imo.
