You don't back trailers up a hill on a curve. Or have to start in slippery soil without spinning tires which will bury them. I can shift crash boxes without clashing them (double clutching), split shift two speed axles, and do just about anything possible with manuals. Which is why all of my current trucks are automatics.

And a very short warranty.! That's to get back in the workshop that charges between $150- $200 /hr depending on the brand of vehicle ! You can't even get an oil change at the dealers for less than $120.00 today . Remember when you could get an oil change at quick lube or Express oil for $35.00 , Remember just 4 year ago you could buy a car battery for under $50? Today a car battery costs over $200.00 and $50.00 for labor to replace.

I do not understand why auto manufacturers can't make a transmission that will stay with us. The newer a vehicle the more junk they are. Too much attention to electronics and bells and whistles has just added problems. The American public is at fault for asking for all this junk. If Ford and Gm would go back to making trucks like the seventies they would be a lot better off and so would we.

I don't know if it's really Americans fault totally. People can only buy what is available to them, so government regulations, insurance industry demands, and manufacturer greed influence what they create and sell to a needy and foolish public. Manipulation like the ev misinformation about their eco friendlyness is now making the sloppy manufacture of new ice vehicles common because of the mistaken idea that ice vehicles will soon cease to exist.

Ok they " fixed it " but it took 4 FFEN YRS to fix it , in the mean time HOW MANY OF THEM WERE SOLD , to unsuspecting buyers who got SCAMMED , by the General of Motors , 🤔 hmm I bet thousands , all manufacturers know that there are many people who are fanatics of everything, and so if Toyota is king it will always be king even though they know Toyota is not what it was and they still pay the dealer Toyota tax , and pay it with a smile and a happy hand shake , that's why the prices continue to rise🎤

just going to throw this out there about the electric trucks, no matter how they perform when using them as a car, the moment you try and use them like an actual truck there performance plummets, hook an empty boat trailer to one and the range will drop by 70-75%.

Pickups have become something they were not originally ment to be. In the beginning they were ment to be a tool to help make our work lives easier. Now they have become glorified cars. A truck doesn't need all the bells and whistles they stick in them. Bells and whistles are just more stuff to increase the cost and then go wrong. Start again with a basic truck that will do a job. It doesn't need to be a racecar or convey you around in the lap of decadence. How many new pickup trucks ever get off the pavement?

@raymondwright2985
@raymondwright2985 Ай бұрын
You blame the manufacturer that wants to make it impossible for anyone other than a dealer to carry out repairs and charge you anywhere between $150 - $200 /hour ! That sets minimum hours for repairs that an owner can do in half the time . Plus the cost of parts have more then quadruple over the past 10 years for no other reason than the dealer knows you have to pay if you want to drive you vehicle out the shop . I've seen this with a KIA Sorento that I owned when the running lights on one side of the vehicle stopped working. And even though the engine an transmission came with 100k Warranty noting else was covered after 60 k miles, The problem a printed circuit . The cost for the part $1,150 .00. Plus labour. I was told there is one on each side for the lights . The cause. The element in the brake light shorted out when it failed, frying the circuit, The simple repair that could have been repaired at home would have been a fused circuit! A new fuse and a new light bulb would never have cost more than $10 to repair !! But KIA added two unnecessary printed circuits at $1,150 ea for no other reason than force you to go the dealership that charged $85 for a diagnosis if they don't get to fix the problem. I never did the rip off for the repairs , paid the $85 diagnostic fee and within a week ,I traded that junk for Toyota Camry that came with a 100k .10 year warranty with exception of brakes pads and rotors, that I can replace on my own if needed.
