Some of the VW parts houses have scoops the mount to the right and left rear quarters?, and fill the engine compartment with air, you can duct the air where you want it, but they fit a Bug on the outside.

Awesome build been waiting for an update... don't worry about how it's running... it's not tuned. Clean all your fabrication up grind all your welds down reweld them if needed. I guarantee you there's some pinholes in there and you can't have any. All that piping and everything needs to be finalized. take it all apart clean it... clean it again...reweld it... wrap it. clean up the wiring as best as you can and get it tuned! You're so close to being able to drive it this thing and its going to be fast. Soon as you have a driving after it's tuned you'll have plenty of motivation to make it look nice. I'm sure Brent is going to think this thing is awesome.

I'm really pumped I found this build. I have been talking about wanting to do a Honda swap on a Bug that I have for a couple of years. Luckily I listen to your disclaimer and have noticed a few things I will do different but it's still an amazing project. One small suggestion would be investigation in a gimble or tripod. Lol!

Put a big washer on the pipe under the hood to the pipe and cut the hole in the hood bigger ! That way it will still clear when you open and still close it up around the pipe!

I'm glad you went with a GSR...the P72 B18C1 is a great engine. I don't think that I've ever heard of anyone putting two turbos on one, but I'll be interested to see how quickly it spools those smaller turbos. The tuner can adjust the timing and air/fuel ratios to make the turbos as efficient as possible. I'm legit pumped for this build. I think that once it's tuned, painted, the interior is assembled, the glass is in, and it's back on the ground it's going to be such a cool little custom bug. I saw one sitting in a guy's yard yesterday afternoon and I thought about picking it up and swapping in my built B16A that I have sitting in my garage. I have seriously always wanted to own an old Beetle.

My only issue is there's something about only having 40-some horsepower that doesn't sit well with me...it would have to have a stroked high compression VW van engine or something.

Weld a flange on the inside of the “hood” and extend the pipe just enough where it doesnt mess with the closing of the hood and with the flange gou can put tips on it so it will have ann exhaust petrusion and will still be able to open it up.. how i did mine. As long as the flange and pipes inside dont touch it doesnt rattle or csuse anything negative .. just for looks.. and dumps out the car better, youd be surprised at the backdraft bugs make right at the center lower section. If you look at tunnel data they make a swirl right there.

Why bother with an IC on a build like that? Run a little water meth inj at each turbo inlet and eliminate all the bs. A2A will never work well there anyway. If u run e85 youd be miles ahead. Black bbq grill paint and wrap will take care of those welds! Good luck! Great project

So Volkswagen or Baja Bugs have the back windows that have ports on them that you can get air in through them so you don't have to cut up any of the body or anything or make the under scoop wear if you run in rain or anything that throws water up on top of the motor I think that would be a very bad idea but they make windows that have holes in them with Scoops and I'm just sucking fresh air for the motor the go in those back windows look them up
@GARAGEIdiotS6 жыл бұрын

GARAGE IdiotS - Could be a good idea though to have a look at mod parts for dubs, they might already have invented stuff you need. No need to reinvent solutions, at least for inspiration. But then again I love the home made low buck attitude you got on this build. 👍🏻

Yes there inserts that replace the back glasses I don't know if they're plexiglass or anything like that but I've seen him whenever I was in California out in the desert with the Baja Bugs I don't know where you get them at or how to get them or how much they cost but I've seen them
