I've done this once before on the rear window of a Honda Accord and it was a pain in the ass lol but managed to accomplish getting it removed. Removing that window was probably the hardest part of replacing a quarter panel lol great video!

u can use brake fluid a few hours before attempting to cut pouring around the window so the glue is softened and easier to cut thru

Urethane for the windshield (to get the best seal) should be applied directly to the trimmed urethane on the body. I think you might end up with a bad seal and get leaks because you applied a diff adhesive. I suggest calling a professional for the windshield. -Auto Glass technician

pro wind shield guys are scammers and rip offs!! They wanted to charge me 130$ dollars to do the wind shield on my truck when I could get it done for 75 thru my mechanic....,,,rip off!!!!!!

I believe this is correct I believe urethane adheres better to the trimmed urethane than bare or primed metal. In aircraft anyways the sealer that we use adheres better to trimmed or cured sealer than it does to bare metal.. as long as the trimmed sealer is cleaned with ketone or alcohol before applying.

Or buy a cold knife from a windscreen supplier for $25 and cut it out by hand in 10 minutes.

I tried doing that with a cutting tool and the glues was too hard

Hey man, awesome job! I'm looking at a WRX that has a cracked windshield. The issue is that the roof near the windshield has a fair bit of rust. How would you address that?
@GarageSpeCivic6 жыл бұрын
How much rust are we talking? I got a video called "A common problem for Honda's - How I repaired the Civic's Rusted Roof" , this was some metal that would have overtime caused me issues unless i replaced it since it was directly under and along the windshield. If the rust is significant i recommend going to a junkyard and cutting out the roof line along the windshield and replacing the metal. Similar like i did in the video im suggesting. It's a little work but you can insure that the rust wont come back anytime soon. Keep in mind that cutting around that area could affect the structure and integrity of the frame though, depending how much is required for repair. If that can be avoided just grind and sand out all the rust, 80 grit, remove as much as you can, clean it, etch it, fill it,sand, prime it, paint it. Prep is key to a long lasting result, so take your time and im sure that you'll be happy years down the line too.

You do a great job up until the pr15 urethane does not stick to this I bet you you can push your window right out
