Great videos 👍 I'm going to be starting my metro resto hopefully this year. Are you going to put new window rubbers in? And have you found anywhere for this?

No, luckily my window rubbers are perfect, the car spent most of its life either in a garage or under a car port so they are still soft,, good luck with your restoration 👍🏻

You made this way more complicated than it needed to be, you most definitely shouldn’t be using your feet as leverage either on a laminated screen.

Thank you for your comment, would you care to elaborate? As I said on the video this is my first successful window removal without cutting the rubber and I still need to remove the side and rear windows so would appreciate any advice and will update

@@NicksGarageUk Good work, courage is always a must! In reply, I have to say that I have no experience although I have done the following procedure on my car: press the internal lip past the steel edge (sorry for not having better lexicum) starting on one upper corner and run this throughout the upper side and part of the side seal. Then, pushing the window will be easy. I have done on my car but for the rear screen which is flat and tempered glass. Better explained on this YT vídeo kzbin.info/www/bejne/imW6mWx_lNeMi9k

my pal has concerns about me wanting to do this, yes my rubbers very dry and rough, but he fears i may crack the screen

If the rubber needs replacing anyway why not cut it out

I was never a fan of metro’s back in the day even though I very nearly bought a white metro gta. But now there quite old school cool I think it was my mum nearly killing us every time she took her old metro out that put me off 😂
