SaibaKeiosu, Safety among Non combat arms folks is king. Military members don’t get the chance to qualify with their weapons often enough so they about as trained as a civilian that took a hunter safety class. So when they deploy to a combat zone and have to carry a rifle or pistol, the commanders tell them “Safety’s on and no rounds in the chamber”. There are too many negligent discharges overseas.

The placement of the tang is to keep the hand inline with the placement of the finger on the trigger so that it points naturally. A Glock has a high tang and a lower trigger and the angle of the grip matches that. So the SIG is designed to shoot along the line your index finger would point, while the Glock shoots at a different angle than your index finger points. The cost is the muzzle flip

We tried for years to hunt down the over/under after he passed; never found it. He was 36th Texas, 143rd and served from Salerno through Anzio, Motecassino, Rome, Southern France, Vosages all the way to occupation. When I first saw your video name, it made me think of watching him load his garand. I thought his thumb was gonna get ripped off. As using and teaching the m18 for the Air Force for the last year, there are a few things I like about the pistol. BUT, we have found that the front sight has been falling off and sliding around pretty often. So we have to replace them quite a bit and use locktite when doing so. Hopefully Sig fixes that. Also we have found when disassembling, the guide rod will sometimes get pinched by the takedown lever and get messed up. It’s an easy fix, for someone with gun experience, but less mechanically inclined people are thrown for a loop with that. Lastly to keep this comment kinda short, because I could write a whole article on this, our shooters tend to shoot very low. The m9 used normal focusing on front sight and rear sight method. The m18 is similar, but it’s more of a combat sight where you should use the dots on the sights instead. That’s not a bad thing really, but we have been teaching it different or the last many years. So having our shooters using the dots instead of the actual sights has been a learning curve. Sorry for the novel of a comment! Just have a fair amount of opinions over the last year having this pistol In Service.

1961: Eugene Stoner Becomes a Consultant at Colt At this time, Eugene Stoner leaves the ArmaLite company, taking a position as a consultant at Colt. Around the same time, the United States Air Force tests the AR-15, commissioning 8,500 for Air Force use. 1963: The M-16 is Born With the AR-15 in the hands of the Air Force, a standard model of the rifle is born. They dub it the M-16, the most famous service weapon of the United States Military. General Curtis LeMay saw a demonstration of the AR-15 in 1960. Impressed by the prowess of this new firearm, when General LeMay became the Air Force Chief of Staff in the Summer of 1961, he placed 80,000 AR-15's on order for the U.S. Air Force.

Those Sig slides are stainless so there isn’t a big chance of rust. In addition, the screws coming in from the bottom just hold the plate, you will screw the Deltapoint or Romeo1 pro in from the top. The frames are $45.00, the Wilson Combat is $65.00 and the tungsten infused X5 frame is $200.00 to $250.00 depending on where you order from. Good review.

My experience with the accuracy of the M18 has been phenomenal. On day one of finally getting to shoot my Sig M18 I was able to hit 6" steel plates on the tree stand at 35 meters with ease. Typically I can only do that with a 1911 and on my good days with the m&p 40. I was however using Swiss P Mil Surplus ammo so that could have played a role as to why I was able to shoot the M18 so well on my first day out with it.
