Thank you Felix. I followed your directions exactly. They were perfect. My finger wasnt strong enough to unplug the throttle sensor wire but I used a flat head screwdrive and gently pressed it and it was easier. My 2018 cx5 has 18,000 miles on it. Although I have used CRC intake cleaner through the intake to clean it at 10,000 miles, this was the first time I removed the throttle body. There was a half inch ring of carbon on the backside. Now my car runs quieter and smoother.

Very simple, I have done this before on various vehicles. This throttle body was quite clean and didn't really need cleaning but if you do it early like this it will stay clean longer and run better. Good job!

@@cristiansastree Make sure the car is off, unplug the battery 🔋 and wait 30min. Then plug it back in. You might need a new MAF sensor if you messed with it, MAF sensors are delicate af.

Just cleaned it out myself. Thanks for the tutorial. I will say that I struggled removing the wire harness from the throttle body. In the end I left it connected and was careful not to spray around the intake or anywhere else nearby. Used lots of micro fiber towels. My 2016 Cx-5 has 160k miles and was never cleaned before.

1:56 Bottom left corner of the throttle body there's an electrical plug in, how'd you get that off? I haven't started trying to remove my throttle body yet (I'm out at the river letting the dog enjoy sla sunny day before the rain starts). Hey ive been having an issue with my 2014 mazda 6 starting up fine, then during idle it goes up to 1500 rpm in park or stopped in drive. I cleaned the throttle body as it was very dirty, now the issue is amplified slightly with idling at a higher rpm, is there a way to reset the throttle, so it knows what to idle at? If so, how do we reset it?

Have you done the relearn process or reset ecu by disconnecting the battery for 10 mins. Then Let the car idle for 5 mins , hold the rev to 2000rpm for 3 - 5 mins , hold the rev to 3000rpm for 3 - 5 mins . Then let the car idle for 5 mins. Shut off the car and restart it after a 5 mins. Then drive as per normal.

After cleaning the throttle body and MAF sensor I have 1500 rpm with warm start and I can´t get more than 2000 rpm with full throttle. I also have check enginge light and traction control warning in the dashbord on. It was running perfectly fine before. Did I broke the throttle body? I have disconnected the battery for 1 hour hopping to reset the TB, but no luck. Ifull open the TB while cleaning it. What can I do? Is there a way to quickly restart the ECU and do throttle relearning with Skyactive?

Please check all wiring make sure it is connected properly. By the way did u force it open the TB while cleaning ? If you have you might damage the electricity inside of the TB. to confirm this you will need a OBD tool scanner / MSDS scanner to see the fault. But then again do a recheck and disconnect the battery for 10 mins and restart the car.

yes it will be reset, i think you can also re activate the i stop feature after wards. Have a browse on google im sure you will find the how to’s. TB relearn is to let it idle for 10 minutes and then press n hold the gas pedal on 3000rpm for 3 to 5 mins then to 4000rpm to 3 to 5 mins.

breather hose allows an internal combustion engine to vent crankcase pressure out of the engine. to use seafoam chemical you have to spray it through the Throttle body while engine is running not through the breather hose. Please confirm this direction of use should be on the bottle.

How do you adjust throttle cable?

The only way to adjust it is at the mounting bracket on the intake manifold plenum. There you will find two 12mm nuts to adjust the slack. Loosen, adjust, tighten - it's pretty simple you'll figure it out. Just don't make the cable too tight and don't try to adjust the idle speed this way.

Yes personally i would do at about 50k to 60k kms … i would recommend to do yours now at 80K kms. It should be dark brown by now… you will see the difference after the fluid replacement with new atf filter.

Thank you for your answer, i got these malfunction lights on: SCBS, Electric parking brake, Tire pressure light and check engine light on. Next day DPF malfunction showed up, went to MAZDA service and they said they couldnt access DPF software in my CX5 , so they would charge me 900$ for new throttle body, dpf regen, temperature sensor in exhaust and removing lights on dashboard that malfunctioned. Sorry for this long question, you got any idea what it could be, the day I got these lights and stuff was heavy snow and mud.

@@amnon3267 disconnect the battery for 10 mins , then you want to warm up the car idle position for 5 minutes then give it a rev hold it at 3000rpm for 2 to 3 minutes, then take it for a drive around the block.

I've got idling issues atm I've just 0rderd maf cleaner so I'll be doing that too I have been left a decent diagnostic tool by garage they've reppaced 1 injector but nothing shows up on diagnostic and it's intermittent every few days etc a pain . And one day runs sweet (ish) other days a bit lumpy . Can't be a bad thing soong this . Did you see improvement buddy ? (Sorry for long story lol)

Hi Aldo. It is recommended to replace tge TB gasket . But if your gasket is still in good working order you do not replace it. But if you have the luxury to replace might aswell replace it just for peace of mind. Any TB cleaner will do the trick. If you touch it accidently for a second it should be alright just as long as you do not force it open and closed. You will damage the inner parts of the TB assy. Thank you for your time.

Hi Felix can you helpme, recently my engine at the star makes more noise than before, stay as is around 15 secs and go back to normal sound. May card already sounded like your on this video on the stard, but now the start souns is louder. What can it be?. Can you help me. GDI intake valve cleaner is safe to use , just have to use it as per the manual . i believe you only need to loosen the intake hose and slide in the CRC intake nozzle and spray the cleaner every 2 to 3 second interval while someone inside the car hold the gas pedal to 3000rpm for a couple of minutes . But please do read the CRC cleaner manual prior doing this. I am uncertain about the engine noise you are referring to . it could be anything . what kind of engine oil are you using . and how often do you change your engine oil . Thank you

@@GarasiFelixDan Changed every 6 months, engine oil is liquy moly (molygen, green) 5w20 (0w20 on engine cap, so I think it is ok), the sound stard around month ago. Yesteday the macanic changed to 5w40 molyge, I live in central america.

But a month a go not sound to louder. I will try to clean the MAF and the air sensors, also the throttle body as on your videos, seems easy. Also wanto clean the valves with GDI intake valve cleaner but have some fear on ruin the engine. I I would appreciate it very much if you could make a video of how to do this. After cleaning my throttle body my electonic fuel gauge is fluctuating a little. In other words my cars range on a full tank is 810 km's. So my range digital display is going up and down a little.

Hi Felix Dan, how's life in your part of the world. Yes i guess that is a good thing but its like the fuel gauge computer doesn't know exactly what the range is as i drive, for example when i got into my car today, my fuel range was approximately 410 km's i drove about 18 miles which is 30 kms. My fuel gauge is still reading 400 km's range. My car seems to be using way less fuel but my computer seems to be a little confused while i am driving and keeps recalculating the driving range. Before i cleaned my throttle body the digital clock would drop down digit by digit in a much more orderly fashion, more predictable. BTW my throttle body was dirty and some of the carbon would not come off, I kept the old gasket as it was perfect. I followed yr instructions very carefully and made sure not to touch the butterfly value or open it. I do a lot of maintenance on my car. My Mazda is very simple to work on. I very rarely let anyone touch it as i prefer to fix things myself. God bless you brother.🙏 Love yr channel.

If the car operates normally once u assembled it. Do not worry about it. Just dont moved it with force often as you may broken some internal parts within the Throttle body.

I own a 2016 Mazda 2.2 D skyactiv with 80000KM on it. The idle goes up and down and slow acceleration are inconsistent between 1000 and 2000TRM . Is that one symptom of a dirty throttle body ?

I owned a 2017 Mazda CX-5 and over the years trying my very best maintaining it myself and with six years at 140,000 the troubles were very minimal. Regular routine including keeping the throttle body grime free but there's one thing that I never had any success dealing most "harnessees" inside of any car. I suck at it and if I'm not familiar with it I will always destroy it while trying and ask questions later. And regarding my Cx-5 I never did figured out how to remove that throttle body harness and over the years. Over the years I would just let it sat on top of the air filter box and clean it there after removing it out of the snorkle and the intake. I was so sad as I watch this video with anticipation that you will mention something about it but you just removed it so lightning fast it was like Clint Eastwood killing both The Bad and The Ugly with just one bullet. Yeah it was fast.

@@yubayub9160 Untuk fitur i stop dapat di setting secara manual seperti ini step by step nya. 1. Warm up the engine. Turn everything electrical off that you can - radio, A/C etc so there is no/minimal electrical load. 2. Switch the ignition off. 3. Switch ignition to on but dont start engine. Long-press the i-stop OFF switch for 3 s within 5 s after switching the ignition ON. 4. Start the engine. 5. Press the i-stop OFF switch. Verify that the i-stop indicator light (green) flashes and stays flashing. If it does not flash, go back to Step 3. 6. Allow the engine to idle for 10 minutes, or until the i-stop indicator light (green) turns off. Mine didnt stop flashing so after 10 minutes or so i just went to step 7. 7. Switch the engine off. Wait a minute or two. 8. Start the engine. Go for a drive. Untuk tcs , tpms tinggal bro teken tombolnya beberapa saat nnti akan mati lampu warningnya. Semoga ini bermanfaat .
