Find more info at www.groasis.com . Garbage dumps or landfills have no soil below. In countries with little rain, there is no water, no capillary system, below. The underground consists of plastic, metals, stones and biomaterial. The dump produces methane gas that is poisonous for the roots. So it is very difficult to do ecosystem restoration. This video from 2017 shows a plantation in Valladalid on a landfill, done in 2012. The differences in height, caused by mentioned reasons, are big, but the survival rate of the planting is almost 100%. Landfills can be restored with the Groasis Ecological Water Saving Technology.

@Arabian Dude You might be interested in checking out the Al Baydha Project which relies on permaculture earthworks principles led by co-founder Neal Spackman. There are already a number of older videos here on youtube and he is currently working on editing the latest update. They do use drip irrigation to support the trees until they are established but he mentions in a video the plan is to eventually remove it.

Yes if there is available water the plant grows. Once the box is gone what is the water relief of the land, how does it flow, how does the soil retain the water? The root system will only go so far. Those trees are very far appart and not planted with thought to the water table. The box is an initial advantage but must be used with a system that considers water retention in the landscape.

Biodiversity of two pine and leaf trees which grow in some symbiosis with each other, in line that is consistent with soil, geography-land. In five years of successful development, new life should emerge. Small step in wright direction is real importance of our life. Majority of trees in rich earth have same length of their root system as their seen height.

Planned grazing is the only thing that can bring back the health of these environments. There is absolutely no thought given to how these ecosystem functions from the people involved in these projects, that is mainly why it will never work.

There have been other videos explaining how this is a first step, and other ways this can be used to expand for growth of vegetables, fruit trees, etc. You may also want to watch the one on water/soil capillaries. I'm just now hearing about this process, but it has been around for at least 10 years.

@@martywanlass4774 The migrating herbivorous is necessary for this kind of ecosystem to function and improve long term. This is what the world leading biologist in world Allan Savory calls a brittle environment, and when you operate in these environment on a large scale, herbivorous in big moving herds are necessary. This is new knowledge in a very rigid field, so its hard to break through with it and get people to understand how it works.

to much technology instead using permaculture methods like swales and berms. with 500mm rain per year its easy possible to grow the whole forrest only using swales berms and ponds - for sure!

Isn't that much more labour intensive? If it works, this is a fairly easy way to establish trees in a dry infertile area, and once established they can start their magic to tranform the land. It seems to me to be providing a microclimate for each tree, until the trees can form shelter and microclimates for each other. Many questions remain of course :) Seems like a good second string though.

Why aren't you using permaculture principles used to regreening the desert? That's already been done in China, the Middle East and Africa. It is the soil that you need to feed by mulching not just the tree. Biodiversity is indispensable for a balanced eco-system, you are just planting one species. Contact those involved in regreening the desert to know how to do it.

I love the technology and the effort, so nice to see! But planting a wild Forest in monoculture way; the trees are aligned like it would be harvested by machines or something.. Imagine if the land is being regenerated using permaculture with this technology, in 5 years with the help of grazing animals you would have Garden of Eden..

Its my understanding that this is a first step, but that using permaculture will be a logical procession. Maybe there is hope for our world after all. Bring on these wonderful ideas!
