@@TerminusEst1982 Garbage sold 17 million albums worldwide. Do a simple google search and realize that is nothing compared to 1000’s of other musicians/bands. Garbage has been making albums from 1993 until 2021. They were popular from 1995 to 1999. Outside of those years not so much. Yes, I think over the span of their career and compared to other bands that were more popular they are very underrated. Per your comment I did not realize me knowing about a band makes them relevant. Amen to that. Being from Wisconsin and knowing Butch was a graduate of UW Madison has always been a point of personal pride for me. They had a great foundation and once they brought in their ginger sorceress from Scotland, lightning in a bottle was achieved. Never saw them live but catching them now on you tube is so damn satisfying.

When the band formed, Shirley was basically a tool that the rest of the band purchased. Butch Vig (you know.....the Nirvana guy) more of less had a female voice that he needed to compete his project and he picked up Shirley as an accompaniment.

As much as I love and miss the 90s more like anything else, and I wish I could be back in those wonderful years, being 90s kids had a few cons and that was one them. I couldn’t just go to my classmates and say “ hey guys, have you heard the latest song from Fiona Apple? She’s great, isn’t she?” Nope. You had to hide your hype about some bands. I guess that also depends on who your friends were. Also I have to clarify I studied in a public school and each classroom had like 30 kids from the whole city 😂😂😂

Ironías de la vida, no pude asistir al concierto en Lima la semana pasada. Sin embargo Garbage fue de mis bandas favoritas hasta inicios del 2000, los seguí hasta la época del single Androginy. El mejor concierto de rock que haya oído jamás. Increíble banda, historia de la música, culmen del sonido grunge, y qué decir de Shirley, excepcional, y en este concierto en concreto brilla con toda su fuerza y esplendor.
