Your work is beautiful in the light of re-construction & in being green for our future... I could only imagine, you trapping the methane gas being released from all the vegetation as it goes through it’s seasonal change or as you cut things down, and using that energy to power your vehicles & combustion engine tools. It’s free you only need to capture it, and use it. Good luck my friend , I love what your doing!!!

Got a million dollars worth of equipment there, and selling used beam lumber. LOL. Sounds like me. Seems this is more a labor of love. Would like to find big gluelams like that and make nice garage 30wide x 2-3" thick worktable surfaces. That stuff is so heavy and it's hard to find a 30" wide bandsaw mill, seems like I would have to put $300 in an alaskan chainsaw mill and another $1500 into a Sthil saw with a long enough blade to saw through them. A slab of wood like that is heavy heavy. By the time I figured up all the money and time I would need to put into it, it was cheaper to just lay down plate plate steel for the surface.

Looking at the beams, I got the idea that they are laminated.. are they and then comment on how well that you handle the hydraulics on just about anything. I know that your hand had to hurt bad when the rope on the stihl chain saw in a prior video, I was going to say ouch but figured that you muttered that fairly well on your own. It surprised me when you shortened the beams. You have mining in your blood alright. Is that part of the Columbia River your dipping gravels out of. If all the toys are yours then when you empty the trash bucket at your house, let me sort threw it/LOL

I just would have thought you would have fork lifted them on with skids underneath and spacers between etc. Hope you don't mind me asking cheers. Russ.

I am in my living room so I am sure if I was on the job somehow it would be different? but at this point I have a hard time understanding how running a excavator and a mill for more than an hour to get 150 bucks is cost effective? Does the hoe itself not rent charge out for 170? an hour. I am all for creating something out of nothing but the idea that there is any money here??? that I am missing.... even if that five foot piece of wood yielded 300 How could you possibly make the payment on the mill and the hoe at even 500 day?
@matwalker63366 жыл бұрын
ok ok ok you did nine done there in the day so lets call it 1200 for the day.... after hitting the nails with the chain saw and the mill saw and now the excavator needs attention... You love what you do and for that I encourage you... as a math guy.... put the excavator to work and dont look back... LOL
@NorthwestSawyer6 жыл бұрын
Well, if I was paying to use the excavator it would certainly be a different story. I would never rent something that size for what I’m doing. That’s just what was available. If my yield for the day was that one chunk of wood, $150 wouldn’t make sense. When you add it to the rest of the wood I gathered in roughly three hours of actual work and travel and the almost $6k I’ll get for the lumber, it makes more sense. Once the bulk dimensions are cut, each pass of the saw is quick and profitable. I paid off this mill in a year mostly from work just like this.
