I'm not sure why I like your videos. Perhaps it is your relaxed style without a lot of yammering and the therapeutic watching someone else do all the work. Seeing Oregon in it's hillside glory is good too. I was a hillside gouger near Toledo for years.

I have an lt35hd that came from the factory with the debarker. It is my opinion that the motor on the debarker is way under powered and the mechanism that holds it against the log is not well designed. Mine always was either not engaged, or got stuck on a tiny bump on the log, or the motor stopped turning the blade, or the circuit breaker popped. I took mine off after 70 hours, because I felt that it did not work well enough to add value to the process. Worst $1000 I spent at Woodmizer. Everything else works great on the saw. I hope you have better luck with your debarker! Love the channel.
@NorthwestSawyer5 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Jason. The wheel on the debarker is driven by a belt. It sounds like maybe you’re was out of adjustment? I use mine all the time and it’s saved several blades for rock damage. I do pop the breaker from time to time but it’s typically operator error when I do.

Hi! I love your videos! I am thinking about buying an LT35 Hydraulic. I own a lot of BIG pines. Was gonna have them cut but the local sawmill didn’t want to give me what they’re worth, so, I’m thinking about buying a mill and milling them into lumber myself. Thank you for your videos!

I have a bad feeling about the rear tires of your tractor on the very edge of your loading area when you back up. For safety sake you need to address this and move your mill landing pad over five feet or so.Hate to see you get hurt brother.Love your videos.

@@NorthwestSawyer Awesome man..Did you see my question about what your opinion is about swingblade versus this style saw setup? I am going to buy a mill when we move over around burns in a year and I plan on milling all the lumber from pine and some blue pine for interior walls or ceilings.Thanks.
@NorthwestSawyer5 жыл бұрын
I answered an almost identical question recently but it must’ve been someone else. I don’t have any experience with a swing blade but from what I’ve seen, you’re limited to making dimensional lumber only. It sounds like that’s what you’ll be looking for but you also lose quite a bit due to the blade kerf. I really like the ease of setting up the log on my bandsaw mill. There’s very little loss due to the thin blade and more versatility in the lumber you can create.
@bwhntr111115 жыл бұрын
@@NorthwestSawyer I think you are right I am leaning towards the same mill you run..I should be able to pick this stuff up pretty easy I ran a big metal bandsaw and various other metal fab jobs for a living for 15 years.Learning curve will be how to get the most out of each log I expect.Thank you.
@DGOTheResistance4 жыл бұрын
Why not use the forks to pick the log up and put it on the mill? I do it with my little John Deere 1025R all day long and it keeps the dirt out of the log.

I have to ask , Jason, are you planning on repairing that ROPS roof? Maybe you told us before, but are those tractor tires ballasted?
@NorthwestSawyer5 жыл бұрын
They are not currently ballasted. As for the roof, I’d like to but it’s $500 for that price of plastic. We’ll see what happens this winter.
@regsparkes65075 жыл бұрын
@@NorthwestSawyer They know how to charge for essential items , don't they? If it were my decision/choice I'd do a makeshift repair ( as long as the ROPS is not compromised ) and leave it like that.
@regsparkes65075 жыл бұрын
@@NorthwestSawyer I was thinking that ballasted tires would be a help especially for hauling and lifting those larger logs. I have the rear tires on my tractor ballasted and it does help when I have to lift things. Just a thought! Cheers!
