Garbage truck strikes power lines in Toronto

Five busy downtown Toronto streetcar routes are being diverted after a garbage truck struck live power lines Tuesday morning, and service isn’t expected to return to normal before the evening rush hour.
The intersection of King Street and Spadina Avenue has been closed since 8:15 a.m. after the truck made contact with the overhead wires, which provide power to the TTC’s streetcar network.
