Ah I happily watched this variety video, a nice little mix of bodies featured. A couple of big FLs, an RR, a Bridgeport and a couple of Curbtenders, but it's obvious they're fond of CCC for the chassis. Funny how much the arms on the first Amrep wobbled around violently when they started lowering out of the hopper, like an earthquake on the truck. What's the deal with the pockets on the bins, some had them on the side, some on the bottom and then at 6:10 the pockets were on the side and bottom - WTF?! I think the Bridgeport was my fav ASL in here, probably being because it was a pure single axle, looks pretty cool. Also the CCC at 10:50 sounded nothing like a truck, produced a really weird noise :O Awesome catch with all the trucks!

MitchellM15 Not sure why Santa Monica's bins are so different. Bottom and/or side pockets are common enough in Southern California, but many of the trash bins have bottom pockets spaced more narrowly than standard. The trucks need sliding forks with more travel than the usual setup to handle them. The Crane Carrier at 10:50 sounded even weirder in person. A massive deep rumble you felt in your chest (and set off a few car alarms) combined with the higher pitched whine. Like something out of a Sci Fi movie.

Wow that first truck looks awesome despite the fact that I'm not really a fan of CCC. Hmm interesting to see the RR, I totally forgot that Santa Monica had an RR actually. Santa Monica should really buy some Amrep ASLs. Like the looks of the Autocar Bridgeport. Great video!

The CCC/1st gen Hardox sure is a looker. I had seen pics of similar trucks used elsewhere but didn't know Santa Monica had any, so finding these was a pleasant surprise. Wish I had more of the RR. Bill followed it while I filmed the Bridgeport, we need to pester him to upload his footage. Glad you liked the vid.

Awesome work bro! Love that 1st gen CCC Hardox! Those are badass! Also love the CCC Curbtenders and Rapid Rails. I love the new colors of Santa Monica. Great catch on the Xpeditor Bridgeport to. Did you film these all in one day?

Really nice video George! Can’t believe I haven’t gotten to this one sooner considering it’s been like 5 years lol. Santa Monica sure has an eye for variety. I liked every truck in this video, but my favorite had to be the WX/Mini Bridgeport. Do you know if that is a spare by now?

They sure do. Santa Monica's trucks have forks with a wider range of motion than your standard adjustable forks.

@Andrew Gomez I was really young when I wrote this comment. “Hate” is a strong word, so I don’t necessarily hate garbage trucks anymore, but they’re still quite bothersome when they show up in the alleyway twice a week at 5AM.
