Garbage Trucks of the City of San Diego: CNG Peterbilt 320 / Scorpion Side Loader [Part 3]

While I was in the neighborhood dropping off my resume to a local business, I heard sirens off in the distance. The sirens sounded not too far so after I was done I jumped into my car and went searching for the sirens to check out what might be running in that neighborhood.
To my surprise it was one of the few scorpions the city purchased earlier this year.
I filmed a little bit of the truck and then took off before having to be at work later that afternoon.
I found it hilarious that I found this truck so easily, mainly because I have been zooming past this truck for months now going opposite ways on the freeway.
I think that this truck is definitely a change for the city. Since they've been buying only Amreps for the past 10 years. So it's good to see that they've actually opened up and tried different manufacturers, the full Amrep fleet was getting a little boring.
This truck kind of brought me back to the days when the city had curbtenders. Of course this truck is not a curbtender and it has a complete different design to a curbtender but honestly I think the concept is within the same realm. Very good looking truck and fast truck as well. I hope the city buys more and it maximizes the collection process.
What's also funny is that I found the same exact truck two days later. Apparently it runs on the route that my uncle lives on. lol

I live in that area. I haven't seen it anywhere else but Rancho Penasquitos. They got it about 4 months ago. I really love it.

My area uses a Diesel trash truck but CNG recycling. Yard Waste is still the Pak Mor CCC's.

Man why haven't more of trucks been purchases? Especially when still lid flip, but don't do it as violently as Amreps thus reduces broken containers. Nowadays you hardly see these trucks anymore. So sad 😢😢

I just saw a Heil/Autocar CNG truck (815 400) doing trash so they are out there.
