that was so simple it was genius. I also thought you'd have to punch the pin through fabric. but didn't have to do that either. thank you so much :)

Hi, I just watched your video, they are really beautiful broaches, but one tiny thing, it's pronounced Pen-Anular not Penikular! If the ring is a complete circle then it is an Annular broach!

All very good and informative, but I'd be very interested on your opinion or advice on how do you use the Clones Fibula/dress fastener?

Do you actually pin it through the cloth or you trap the cloth between the pin and the loop?

"nothing is going to be coming out" Yeah no, that doesn't work for me. I have one of your cloaks and I try using one of those brooches to pin it in place. It works for about two or three days before the heavy fabric falls out of the brooch and I have to redo the whole thing, including watching this video to remember how to pin it. It's very annoying.
@GarbTheWorld4 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that, not sure why it's not working. We've not heard this issue before. We've used them and they've been used since Biblical times. Is the weight of the cloak pulling on it? Are you moving around a lot (e.g. fighting)? Have you tried moving the pin direction to see if that helps? We always recommend not having it go straight up but there are other directions to try.
@Fayanora4 жыл бұрын
@@GarbTheWorld I take the cloak off without undoing the brooch, since it's so difficult for me. No fighting, but I do wear the cloak every time I go out if it's cold enough.
@Fayanora4 жыл бұрын
@@GarbTheWorld Also I try the pin in different positions and it tends to shift around on its own. I think so, anyway.

Scottish were mostly not Vikings they had their own whole history but a portion of Scottish of coursed lived that life style
@Inquisitor_Vex2 жыл бұрын
Scots were 100% not Viking, they were originally Brythonic celts (Picts) who were overtaken by Irish Celts (Scotti). While some Scandinavians settled on the islands and in the north/northeast, to say Scots were Viking is just not true. Especially considering that “Viking” just means pirate so the Danes who settled wouldn’t have been Vikings themselves even.
@-ChampionOfDeath-2 жыл бұрын
@@Inquisitor_Vex scottish is a Heritage now not just irish as im sure they may have been in history a few irish vikings im sure maybe more than likley there was some scottish people whole lived that life of a viking
@Inquisitor_Vex2 жыл бұрын
@@-ChampionOfDeath- are you talking about modern day Scots or historical Scots? Either way, if any did partake in Viking raids, it would be a vanishingly small number, hardly worth mentioning. All your doing is obfuscating both Scottish and Scandinavian history.
@-ChampionOfDeath-2 жыл бұрын
@@Inquisitor_Vex i disagree those Scots that did partake in Viking life styles deserve to be mentioned at least

Its pen ANNULAR, with an N. There is no ICK in it. Get a clue, woman. From someone who made penannular brooches from '81 to '22. Other than that, nice tutorial!
