I wouldn’t stress too much about viewers right now. It’s a very busy season and everything is about to shift into a new rhythm. Just gotta get through harvest and into another year of homeschool. :)

I just want to say that I have followed your channel for quite a while, maybe an early subscriber, and wanted to recognize all your hard work! Kudos to you, dear Shayla. What a blessing of abundance from your homestead! I wish I could just visit for a week to watch you in real time. Also, thank you for sharing your zucchini recipe based on how it looks. When we follow suggested times, that doesn't work out for us. We live at 7500 ft. Our homestead is in a foundational year where we are still trying to figure better systems out for our area and available resources, so it feels more overwhelming than fruitful, but it'll get better, I hope. To see your success can be a temptation to envy, but I truly feel so happy for you and your family. Hearing your backstory, I'd say this is all well deserved and a dream come true! I know it took lots of hard work and sacrifice, and I feel blessed watching God work in your life and that of your family. Big hugs and high fives from NM!

Thank you so much, I recognize your comments when they come in and always appreciate them so much. Thank you for the kind words too. This year our garden isn't doing nearly as well as last year, and so I do understand the discouragement! You're homestead sounds like it is going to be seriously amazing. I bet next year will be better, especially if you do soil testing and remedy! Blessings to you, Friend!

It's so encouraging to have someone that you can relate to at times. My husband and I have abusive "family members" meaning they are family but I don't call them such.... on both of our sides. But also, it's encouraging to see modest and feminine women that have God, Jesus, and grow in their roles of wife and motherhood. 😊

Hi, A pastry chef showed me to put 4 strips of waxed paper underneath the cake before frosting so that it keeps the plate clean. Once done, you just remove the strips. You don't seem to need it as your cake plate was clean, but thought viewers might appreciate this yip. it helped me tremendously as I am a messy baker :)

I mean a reviler is someone who purposefully wants to cause trouble with what they'll say, for sure. My dad is one but I am constantly am told to forgive him while he is never told to stop being mean to me or others with his cruel "jokes" or words. This was good to hear. I needed to hear it anyway for the other things listed too that I have tolerated in regards to sinful friends I try to be patient with who are not living a good life at all but were once Christians.

The fact that you can grow food is amazing! Haha your shoes!! I feel the same, I’m always washing them and putting in the sun to dry and have to crunch them back into place. 😂 Thank you for covering this tough topic… it becomes misconstrued so many times mostly as a Christian. Going through this again and have had relationships come back in family I never thought would be restored with boundaries but were. So now… I’m just trying to keep our heads up this time. We can’t move to the country now as we have tried quite a few times … I watch you to turn my city dwelling into a little cobblestone cottage. Love your setup 🎉

When dealing with toxic folks do like Joey from Full House..."Cut.It.Out." LOL...seriously though, My husband & I have dealt with abusive people from both sides of our family & a few so-called friends over the years. I also dealt with some childhood stuff where there were family members who did abusive/hurtful things to my parents & I have to live among them (my road is literally named after my paternal family & I live in the original homestead & am surrounded by family. I am related to almost every single household on my street & my husband grew up 5 houses away, so he is too) I have done some weighing over the years. Do I hold onto 'hurt' that was inflicted upon my parents, but not me directly? Is it worth keeping a grudge going for another generation when I could forgive & move on, as long as they don't cause me pain? No, and after 20 years most of it has been 'laid to rest'. And now, the generational 'hate' is over & my kids & my cousins' kids up & down the street are friends & never even knew there WAS a problem. I can wave to my neighbors or even have coffee with them! THAT is a blessing to me to end that warfare. But, my husband's family is another story! They intentionally caused us pain & acted in an abusive manner towards all of us, constantly. I was not willing to allow people to have that sway over MY life or to hurt my children. So, we cut them out. We approached them many times asking them to stop doing certain things. We alerted them when their behavior was untoward. We were point blank told, "I'm too old to care about this relationship. I'm not doing anything different." or "If you're waiting around for an apology, you are wasting your time. You're not getting one." So we cut them out like a cancer. We cut out the ENTIRE family; my kids' grandparents, aunts, cousins, uncles, 2nd cousins, etc...And even though we have cut them out of our daily lives they STILL try to cause us pain. So that tells me that there is no repentance & I am not willing to upend my peace of mind to reintroduce them in. We have been honest with our kids & told them WHY we have done this. We figure that if they choose to have a relationship with these people, once becoming adults, it will be their issue but we didn't keep secrets 7 they have fair warning. They do not have many memories of these relatives. They understand our rationale, now that they are young adults. Some people we haven't cut out, but we don't allow their 'voice' to guide us. We can see when the other person is actually suffering & it makes them act in a negative way. One can have pity for that person, forgive them, & not give their 'voice' any credence, without actually evicting them from your life. You just "in one ear & out the other" & pray for them. We have gotten firmer over the years & brook no countenance with anyone that lives against God's plans or causes us intentional harm & is unrepentant. This has left us with TRUE friends/family & whittled it down to the most important relationships which gives us maximum time & input into those that matter the most!

Hello, I love your channel! I'm on a similar journey! And love love love that you focus about God too! BTW when I was ikd 8yo... my mom made me an icecream cake... easy! Use a spring forn pan (think cheese cake) you can use gramcrackers, or bake a base layer... cake, Brownie, etc.... then you could make your own icecream, or melt some store icecream... and so much candy broken up, some Carmel and Chocolat syrup.... you choose your own adventure bur put then the well softened meltyish ice cream onto of a cool led base layer then mix in the candy's or cookies ect, and top with syrups or more candy... or make way more simple. It's so flexible! You can still make the birthday (ice cream) cakes for the kids!

Your videos always give me so much hope! I had my first baby at 22 years old. And I am pregnant with #4. Our dream is to have 6 kiddos - but I’m worried we won’t be able to achieve that dream now that I am 30 years old. I hear so often today that having babies in your 30’s is next to impossible. Hearing you didn’t start your family until 25, and still have had time with them in your home to achieve your dreams gives me a lot of hope that our family can do the same 🫂

Your teaching about boundaries and people that we are not to allow into our lives was really helpful. I think this issue is very mishandled by the mainstream church and often encourages perpetuating abuse in the name of "forgiveness."

I’d like to share a resource!! When it comes to dealing practically with verbally abusive or difficult people (whether it’s all purposefully abusive and/or difficult due partially to neurodivergence etc) in an effective and biblical way , can’t stress enough: “Change my relationship” in “10 life-saving principles for women in difficult marriages” by Karla Downing It has been the biggest game changer in my life, and I feel empowered, yet walking that line of compassion and kindness. It gracefully takes all of the wind out of the sales of the abusive person as well… she includes so many other parts of the Bible that are often not factored in by Christian teachers when it comes to addressing these issues!

Hello! My name is Darya and I'm a new subscriber 😊 do you take time off from homeschooling during your kitchen days? Or do you fit in the kitchen day duties all throughout a regular homeschooling day? I am also a Christian, homeschooling mama to a 2nd grader. I have 2 kids, a 7 year old and a 3 year old. I really want to create a kitchen day as well, during which I will focus on weekly meal prep. You really inspire me, and any advice you post in your videos is of great value! Thank you!

Dear Shayla... I saw your post about possibly starting a new channel, but comments were turned off. I voted that I would follow you to a new channel. Now I just saw your second post responding to those who apparently replied negatively. I am sorry that anyone would speak negatively to you; I don't understand why they would do that!! But my main point in my comment here is this: I will watch your videos on whatever channel you choose to post them because I appreciate you so much!! You are a virtual mentor to me and quite honestly I wish we were real life friends. ❤❤ Thankyou!! ❤🙏🙏

ZUCCHINI!!!! When I have too much zucchini, which is yearly, thank YHWH! , I slice w a knife, 1/8" thick......sprinkle it sparsely w a favorite spice (I use Mrs Dash garlic and herb) ....Lawry's Garlic seasoned salt is delicious on these treats, but be very chintzy w the spices because as the zucchini loses its moisture and turns into "chips", the spices will overpower the chips...... DEHYDRATE until hard like a potatoe chip. Put in pint jars once they're totally cooled and vacuum seal the jar. I always THINK I'm making a potatoe chip like snack that will last all winter...... the zucchini chips NEVER make it past fall. 🤦🏻‍♀️... They're delicious. I hide enough jars to put them in my homemade gift baskets at holiday time......along with home made soaps and lotions and salves.....a couple jars of peach, or mango salsa, home made jams or jellies..... Then right before I give the gift, I make a loaf of homemade bread for each basket, 1 dozen fresh colored eggs, homemade peanut butter cookies & home made chocolate chip cookies.....if the bees have been generous, a small jar of backyard honey for each basket. In the bottom of each basket, a note: Please returned jars, lids, rings. 👋🏻👵🏼
