Garden Flowers You Can Grow for Gorgeous Flower Arrangements

Join me as I explore some beautiful garden flowers that are perfect for creating gorgeous arrangements at home! Some of these plants are new to me, and I’m excited to experiment with growing them to see how they flourish. In this video, I’ll talk through the new plants, how I think I will use them in the garden and whether they will be suitable for using in floral design.

1. Hibiscus ' Mahogany Splendour'
2. Iberis (Candytuft)
3. Catanache 'Amor Blue' (Cupid's dart)
4. Catanache alba
5. Oenothera versicolor 'Sunset Boulevard' (Evening Primrose)
6. Gallardia x 2 (Brown-eyed Susan, Blanket Flower)
7. Vinca minor alba (Periwinkle)
8. Lychnis chalcedonica 'Salmonea' newly named Silene chalcedonica 'Salmonea' part of the Ragged Robin family
9. Eringium - (Sea Holly or Thistle)
10. Linum - think the variety is perenne (Perennial Flax)
11. Asarina scandens (trailing or climbing Snapdragon)
12. Lysimachia - either yellow or white, probably yellow (Loosestrife)

Really enjoyed this video, my husband and I both love gardening and I have a cutting garden, established over the past 3 years. Can't stop buying plants for it! This year I've added a gallardia and it's proving a great success. I've used it in foam and water and I've found you can also dry the seed heads successfully. I'm really pleased with it. What a great time you must have had! Love the look of that hibiscus, will look out for that as I grow the ‘normal’ ones here without any problem. Your unsightly garden wall is going to look amazing with all those trailing plants you’ve just bought, love to see a photo of it next year. Also loved the plants you had in the blue and the white. This was fun...I love plants too! Here in the US, if we buy perennials in the fall, we always try to plant them right away so they root in before the winter. Especially if they are root bound. A couple of those we grow as annuals because we are colder here. I'm in a zone 5 but that is probably a USA term. We do get cold here and so much less rain. I enjoy your videos so much even though I'm just a home gardener who loves to arrange flowers. If you ever consider requests....I'd love to see you arrange without mechanics in a vase with the flowers from the gardens. Just wondering how you think about it before you begin and any tricks you may have. Again...thank you for all the information, I pick up design tips even when it's a formal arrangement.

I'm hoping that they will survive the winter here, but it can be cold and wet and sometimes the roots freeze. I'm thinking about getting them in the ground before it gets too cold.
