Our cat is obsessed with corn. One night we had canned corn on the counter from dinner and caught the cat going to town. He did it more then once too lol.

Some of my favorite memories involve food from the garden. One Independance day we had a big pot of ham and beans, fried squash, and fresh sliced tomatoes. MMMMMMMMMM!

Hey guys just wondering what use the cats play outside? i know you guys are super positive when it comes to food and the environment. It's estimated in the USA that cats are responsible for the deaths of between 1.4 and 3.7 billion birds and 6.9-20.7 billion mammals annually. Maybe you could find or build a containment system (like an outdoor run) for them or keep them inside. Love the channel, i also want to be a homesteader one day.

I understand your concern. We have the cats to kill mice. That is their job on the homestead. And we love them and enjoy having them around as pets.

No. Unfortunately that would defeat their purpose here as we want them to roam through the barns as well. Bells as well. It does make us sad whenever they kill a bird.

First off, thank you for taking the time to reply to all my comments. I can understand having a barn cat, although the ones that i have know have been confined to the barn unless supervised. I'm from Australia and we have too many native marsupials and rodents to lets the cats roam free, plus a large feral population of cats that are destroying our ecosystem.

haha! We love the questions! Art is a nurse and works 40 or more hours per week. That is why it is just me and the kids sometimes. Our kids are homeschooled! We officially start again next week. And Brighton is the smiliest baby in the family! A sweetheart inside and out!
