So i have an idea for you Bri. If you take a bowl of water and dip the full bags into water all the way till it reaches the top but do not let water go into the bag .... It will vacuum seal it, it works well and free

I miss having a big garden and putting up corn.. i cut my kernels off raw and heated in a huge kettle until they were hot, then bagged and froze them. The last year i grew enough corn to put up, i grew Kandy Korn.. lol.. it was considered the be-all end-all of sweet corn then..that was in the 80's.. Sweet corn has come a loooong way since then!

HI there, just wanted to tell you how much I love watching your videos. We picked some corn last year at the farm about 200 km from where we live, some I froze with husks. The best way to cook them for us is wrap it in aluminum foil and straight in oven. When they are done they peel easy, and are delicious 😀

You can freeze corn in the husk - wrapped in paper and sealed inside of brown paper bags and taken out when required and cleaned and boiled or BBQ in the husk - it freezes and keeps almost like fresh sealed inside of brown paper bags. There is no need to do anything to it.

Wonderful looking corn, bi-color is my favorite. I freeze a little corn, but can most of it. If the electric was to fail it is a mess to have a freezer full for defrosting food to deal with. Plus canned corn can be shelf stable for years. I love the taste of frozen corn. We usually add butter and salt before freezing the corn. When you get it out of the freezer it tastes fresh picked.

Hi! I love your videos, I too freeze corn, I do as you do, cut it shallow and I like to take a big soup spoon and rub all that creamy goodness from the stock, once I am finish, there is nothing left on that stock. I have been often complimented on my creamy corn, taste nothing like can corn. Look forward to your new videos.

You should try dehydrating the corn. It is great. Add it to soups or just boil it in water to rehydrate. I've found it to be the easiest way to process with the best results. I have also tested it blanched and not with the same results so I have eliminated that step altogether. Thankyou for the beautiful videos!

Hi love you videos, don’t know if you guys know this but the corn hair that you guys wash off can be use as a tea for when you are having problems peeing constantly. What you do is put them to air dry and than stored them in a bag or container and they when you been having problems peeing a lot just make yourself a warm tea with no sugar. I think there’s KZbin videos that can explain better than I can. 😄

Fascinating watching this journey from the start after stumbling on your vlog part way through. Have you considered using the corn waste for livestock feed? Generally while the leaves are green the whole plant should be high in sugars and very palatable to cattle and goats... I don't have corn now to give to my cow, but the cow I grew up with loved it. Someone needs to talk to YT about providing the "like" and other buttons along the bottom of the screen along with the pause button in full screen mode - I let autoplay take me from one episode to the next, and I can watch ten episodes in a row and love it but never get around to clicking that button. Remembering to drop out of full screen for each vid is not going to happen today, sorry.

Somewhere, probably KZbin, I learned a cool way to cut corn off the cob. Use a bundt pan, prop the ear in the hole in the middle, and when you cut the corn it will fall into the pan. I've tried it, and it's much easier to keep control of where your corn falls. :) I like doing it this way, my mom doesn't love it, but it's worth a try if you have that kind of pan.

Doesn't your knife keep hitting the edge of the metal pan? Another way I heard of doing it, is to drive a 4'' nail on an angle through a piece of wood, impale the cob on this, then cut down with a sharp knife. It is easy enough to do this whole process in a plastic dish, so nothing gets lost.
