Beautiful garden yes but what I really appreciated was the down-to-earth and very calm, human way of being on behalf of the woman doing the interview. I get so sick and tired of people online who are phony and overly enthusiastic about almost nothing at all. By contrast, the interviewer had a friendly and real conversation with the garden owner. Thank you for the breath of fresh air.

How fortunate to have the money to create this lovely garden in 1 1/2 years. Most of us, who love gardens like this, work on our gardens with patience like raising our children from birth to adulthood. There’s a special blessing and satisfaction knowing we spent years to achieve our vision.🌷🌻

As an American who ADORES Great Britain-having been lucky enough to have gone there many times!, I wouldn’t classify this as a traditional “English” garden-which tend to be wild and beautifully “haphazardly” planted for that “specific” effect🙌. This is a very “controlled” tamed garden, like Versailles.

She is an incredible designer that I cannot hold a candle to. However, for a two year old garden, she must have initially planted very large specimens. She may have worked hard but she also put a LOT of money into it.
@HappyCats173 жыл бұрын
I agree that the hardscape took time and money, but I can grow nepeta that large from cuttings in one season. The roses don't look to be more than a year or so old, nor do the phlox. My phloxes only took about 3 years to get 5 feet across, and hers are perhaps from a gallon size pot, but certainly not very many years' growth yet.. She has a great eye for knowing what would look good immediately, and also a great eye for planting things that look great together. Very simple plantings, but a huge impact. A wonderful lesson for me personally, as I tend to want one of everything, and even after many years my gardens do not have this lush, cohesive look.

Thank you, Molly! I actually had mostly quite small plants, 4" pots, that I got at a huge discount in the fall! It's the best time to get awesome deals and to plant. I have a post on my blog that you can read if you are interested. I must admit I was quite surprised by how full everything was the following spring!
@claudiaceleste7772 жыл бұрын
With the amount of fertiliser and probably higher rainfall that is happening here, the size of the plants doesn’t surprise me at all. I planted a number of seedlings in my own garden that are the same size after four months. You can definitely start small to save money as long as you’re prepared to spoil the garden religiously with water and regular fertilising.

So very lovely! What are the names of flowers in the bike baskets? Thank you!
@clarkcottagegardens3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Lucianne! The taller flowers in the back are Aromance Pink Nemesia. The short purple flowers in the front are Dark Knight Sweet Alyssum. The white flowers are Surfinia Summer Double White Petunias. The small pale pink flowers are Calibrachoa hybrid Superbells Double Orchid. They are all Proven Winners.

How beautiful! Could you tell what type of white tree form is on top of her fire pit?
@GardenGateMagazine Жыл бұрын
I believe this is a white rose trained into a standard, sometimes you can find these to purchase at a greenhouse in this classic form. A nice formal touch to the garden!

Enjoyed your garden so very much.. all the more and more beautiful little details I see every time I've re-watched this video. Thanks you for inspiring me! Love your overalls too, where did you get them?!?!
@kristinbeanesullivan73303 жыл бұрын
I believe the overalls are from Duluth Trading Co. www.duluthtrading.com/womens-rootstock-gardening-overalls-36104.html?dwvar_36104_color=RRS&cgid=womens-bottoms-overalls#start=8&cgid=womens-bottoms-overalls.

This is incredible! Would be great if you could kindly share what kind of hardy geranium and nepeta she has there because there are some so many kinds!!
@GardenGateMagazine9 ай бұрын
Surely! She uses ‘Walker’s Low’ Catmint (Nepeta racemosa), and ‘Vision Light Pink’ Bloody cranesbill (Geranium sanguineum). You can find even more plant specifics from her garden in our online article: www.gardengatemagazine.com/articles/garden-design/garden-tours/cottage-garden-charm/
