Its time to shift some earth in our garden makeover. We have to get rid of a wasp nest that is in the way and also fill in the old pond. Jimmy's mate brings in a JCB Mini Digger and let's see how it does.

your garden is massive martin, get a bigger work shed built!!! like the comment about workers and spectators reminds me of the gas board years ago, one poor bugger down a hole digging and three above ground with one leaning on the end of a brush watching

Great amount of progress in such a short amount of time! 😍 Looks like that deflated wheelbarrow wheel got stung by some wasps, hence its condition 😂 You could try and see if that lamppost can be restored in anyway; it would be cool to see that done on Retrohax, even if it’s just as a garden ornament and not a functional light, though I don’t suppose that fitting it with an LED bulb would be too difficult. 😄

The garden is looking great! Have you found a way to keep that little area on the side of the house clear of weeds/ growth? I'm not sure if it can be done on a large area, but I cleared a small patch (2 feet by 2 feet) of yard so our son could make a little rock garden. I soaked the ground with round-up and with the exception of a couple of small weeds, it stayed clear for nearly 6 years. Just a thought. Keep up the great work!

Wasps eh? Down here we are currently getting plagued by the Dorset hornet :( About 5 times bigger than your common paper wasp and infinitely times more bloody aggressive, then the other nite just as was settling meself down for some kip this bloody huge false widow drops from me ceiling so out came the spider spray... spraunced all the rooms bloody things that turned my right arm into a seething morass of poison grr It had gotten so bad I was a fingerswidth from being taken into hospital because of the deep abscessing and black streaking from the poison /cry At least the blowflies have moved on, when the local chicken farm does the heads and giblets off they chuck them into an outdoor skip that stinks to high heaven and it attracts blowflies some as far as France and evil bastards that constantly try and bite your eyes, ear, nostrils and very aggressive :(

Oh and August is Blandford Fly fun times, its Britain's only deadly insect because it leaves crap in the bite wound which quickly becomes gangrenous if not treated, I got bitten by one down in Christchurch about 18 years ago and the bite became bigger than my hand and wide as a saucer and I was nigh on in tears when it burst and all the stinky gunk came out, very nasty creature found on rivers and waterways around Dorset. At least we ain't in Sheerness which has Britain's only established problem of scorpions, a friend of mine had to get council out to a load in his shed down there said it was like a horror film and were hugely aggressive too.
