Nice job as always Robin, I've been considering using this product myself but I've got to see if the small quantity I would require can be sourced economically ! Absolutely right about the importance of managing the run-off - local council used it on the country park on inclined paths without doing this and six months later it's a right mess, uneven and debonding and puddles everywhere !

Hi there, we no longer blast at our Breedon Quarry where our Breedon Golden Amber self-binding gravel is produced. The blasting vibration you may experience sometimes will be from our much larger Cloud Hill Quarry which sits just on the outskirts of Breedon on the Hill.

Hi, it's a good question. Breedon Gravel is purely natural material with no bitumen or binder and so there can be an element of pick up on shoes from time to time. We always advise that there is a hard-standing area (ie paving) covering around 2m2 directly leading to property entrances to help alleviate this.

Looks stunning. We’re having our drive done at the end of this month in exactly this product, 350 square meters. We have looked at everything, tarmac, block paving, gravel, concrete, and resin, but the practicality and aesthetics of this product justifies the cost. Just out of interest, how much MOT did you put down first?
@ukconstruction
@ukconstruction Жыл бұрын
For my path I used between 100 and 150mm but for a drive I would aim for a minimum of 150mm compacted in layers if the ground underneath is stable, when I did my drive that you saw the Breedon Lorry reversing on was originally garden, we excavated to 300mm and then used type 2 for 200mm and roller compacted that, then added 100mm of type 1 MOT over that and its a solid as a rock!!

That Breedon is lovely stuff isnt it.... When you do the top layer to bring it up to the retaining board height put a bigger camber on it so all the water runs off the sides properly. Otherwise you will have a river in heavy rain which will rut it badly. 2 inches high in the middle should be perfect.

I’m sure your path will do the job , but not have the unique feel of the Bredon Hill gravel.

Hi - in it's early life stilettos are fairly likely to leave an imprint - however - over time and with use the product gains strength and so it becomes less likely. Also the top surface scarifies to leave a light dressing of chippings and so any small indents would not be visible.
