Brilliant chippie chat, Elliot is wise well beyond his years! Robin are you still planning on the church spire inspired roof construction? Any complicated roof structures I.e bastard hips etc are always my personal favourite. I think a really in depth kitchen fit video would also be interesting as there isn’t many currently. Ps Robin you’re a legend!

What happens when you cut the lights in? Do you cut the whole bit of insulation out for the lights? Interesting to see what needs to be done?
@belucky963023 сағат бұрын
Hi Rob and all just seen this vid great info just a question if you can help ? ( or any of you guys.) Is loft insulation with a thickness? Of 450mm is this now standard have you heard of this or just too much in your opinion? So my architect suggested I put in 3 layers of 150 two in and one over the top the other way . We have 150 going in the floor. And also will be adding an air source Heatpump (everyone I spoke to said you don’t need that much) it’s for a large barn and very expensive to do I did think 300mm would be adequate just interested to see your thoughts and if you’ve come across this, thank you in advance.

Nice Rob..!👍 But I'm a bit concerned about the strength of those short pillar's, as I didn't see if they had poured re-enforced concrete inside them..🤔 as all it would take to 'bring the house down' is a little tap from a car bumper..😳 but I'm sure you've thought if that..👍

Really interesting series Robin, quick question, how does this method of making up wood panels compare with building it as a block and plaster construction, is it quicker / cheaper, or just preferred to do it this way? Cheers, and looking forward to seeing the completed garage.

Hi Robin! Been watching you since your first videos shot on your phone selfie style and love all of it. Just rewatching some of these and I made myself a roofing square fence just like yours maybe 5 years ago and use it all the time. But one thing I’ve always wondered is what is that 3/4” (sorry, American viewer ;) ahem, 18 mil overhang for on the fence? Thank you so much I implement so much of your videos on a daily bases not just roofing techniques but job site set up and more than anything an absolute love of this trade. Cheers!

Your work is top draw can really see how much pride you take in the work you do , just not sure why you did not cut the over hanging piece off when you drilled a square edge onto your work bench .

I needed to keep that rod long the bit that hangs down is the bit from top of brickwork to finished floor
