Probably yes, since people are using it as foam sprayer to wash the car. In this video you can see how long 1.5L can operate. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJ_IfqWZiNaco9k You can wash it later, if its broken, its not that expensive (you can buy small variant just for the top part), but its not so expensive, at some point it will fail because water contain lots of minerals and things that require chemical cleaning like bathroom, so i think its fine to flush/use it with various things, soap, oil, gasoline, whatever else that can go trough as liquid. When compressing, water can not be compressed, only air, so do not fill it full, less water inside means more air to compress, bigger pressure, for longer operation or more power, thats why big bottles make more sense than 1L, and thats why some people argue that its not working, do not fill all volume with water. When pumping, continue until valve leaks overpressure, you can not damage it with too much pressure, thats why there are valve, even if it does not have pressure release button.
