You should try dwarf indeterminates experiment. Many people don’t want indeterminate runners but want the many flavors and large sizes offered by them; thus, dwarf indeterminate. I actually bore them in our zone. 4-6 ft with lots of large peppers of many types. You have to start from seed and order online
@TheRipeTomatoFarms
@TheRipeTomatoFarms Жыл бұрын
Yup, I got lots of dwarf varieties on the deck and in the greenhouse. Dwarf Mexican, Jingle Bells, Mohawk, Medus Chilly Chili, etc. Love 'em. Easy to grow and the overwinter most times as well. And yes, all peppers are indeterminate.

Hi Jeff, Love your channel, especially the quickies. I was looking for some advice on grow lights. I have several 4” double bulb grow lights but I need more now. I’ve been looking around and was shocked at the price increase. Are there any brands that you could recommend that won’t cost me an arm and a leg? Anyone else is welcome to suggest something. 😊

Thanks John. I have noticed the price increase as well and it feels a little bit more than inflation...weird. Good, reliable ones are Mars Hydro, Spider Farms, EpidLED.....most are quite good these days though.

Hey Shirley, those guys while cute, definitely do a number on any cucumber or melons or even squash that are on the ground. The two biggest things that helped me was to get the fruit OFF the ground, and then make bait trap areas with tastier things for them, then remove them from the area. The population gets decimated pretty quickly and no harmful chemicals need ever be used!

You mention on ep 2 about night temp at 50. I disagree. If you are zone 7 and nights in spring are 40’s, summers being 50’s, you train them early. It’s more about how many hours of max low temp ave at night then low temp known. I do love your videos.

Deer eat the tulips and lilies. Have pretty much given up on growing them. Saved some lilies this year by fencing them in. Not a preferable way as they really don’t look good as you have to see them through the wire cage. 😢
