Black Seeded Simpson lettuce is my fave because it doesn't bolt easily and even when it does, it doesn't get bitter.

Hello Jeff. I hate quickie's usually but this seemed to work. A comment on the Garlic. We've been growing now for 7 years, and always went by harvesting when the bottom 3-4 leaves turns brown with wonderful results. 2 years we let them go a little longer. What happened both of those years was the papers on the bulbs split. That happens as the tops die those wraps tighten because the cloves are still drawing in nutrients causing the bulbs to swell and split. Once split it drastically shortens the storage longevity/ability. So not ideal to pull 1 or 2 to check where they're at? Thoughts? TYFS

Exactly right man. Harvest too early, small bulbs that don't cure....harvest too late, split bulbs that also don't cure and store. Great thing about garlic is it grows RIGHT at the surface! Don't even need to pull on them to check on them.....simply move some mulch/soil aside and look. Takes but a few seconds.

What happens if you leave it too late to thin Beets. Mine are a foot high. Grew so fast. Is the cutting at the base still viable for them this big?

Where is the follow up to the curling tomato leaf video - I think you were going advise a cure.
@TheRipeTomatoFarms
@TheRipeTomatoFarms Жыл бұрын
There is no follow-up. The whole point of the video is to explain that tomato leaf curl can happen on the hottest days no matter what you do. The roots can replenish the turgidity in the leaves fast enough, even with all the available water they need. So the plant needs to curb the transpirational loss curling the leaves. Its a physiological response that 9 times out 10 doesn't need intervention by the grower. That was the whole point.

I have a question about when is the time to harvest garlic 🧄
@TheRipeTomatoFarms

Hi Maria, the plant itself tells you the timeline. When 1/2 to 2/3 of the foliage dies off, the bulbs have reached maximum size: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2rUhoGVe7h2oMk
