First snow of the season for me and a Garden Quickie is such a welcome boon. Thank you Jeff for all you do to help us be better each year. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas. 🎄

This year was my first time growing carrots, and I have to say it went really well. I planted Scarlet Nantes, Danvers 126, and Nantes Supreme. It's really satisfying to pull something out of the garden and have it for a snack! I'm hooked!

Hi Jeff, and Merry Christmas! Here in CO I have had 27 years of planting garlic, and frozen rotted failures and now I keep the bulbs in storage until March. I the entire head suspended over a plastic cup and they all sprout huge roots. Then I pull the heads apart and plant the cloves, to be rewarded with big heads and no rotted frozen ruined garlic. It works!!!

@@oceansoul3694 that's so amazing! How much trial and error until you figured out the system that worked?
@oceansoul369421 күн бұрын
@@TheRipeTomatoFarms Hi Jeff, the first trial was a success! Then I carved out a few water bottles with a 1&1/2 inch slot longwise, filled with water and the bottle held the heads up. With that method I had half of 1 head rot, but the rest rooted. I've given up planted in the Autumn, I've had too much rot from freezing. Now I'm having nearly 100% success and I can grow on in pots in my greenhouse, or wait and plant outside.

@oceansoul3694 that's so awesome. What variety are you growing?
@oceansoul369421 күн бұрын
@@TheRipeTomatoFarms thank you! I grow Music, Early & Late Italian, Dog House, California Early, Corsican Red, Inchelium Red, Belarus, Georgian Crystal, Carpathian Garlic and Chesnok Red. The hardnecks do really well here in Colorado but I love the milder softnecks. I don't grow all of these every year, but these are the varieties I love. What about you? Which are your favorites?🧄🧄🧄🧄🧄🧄🧄🧄🧄🧄🧄

@HardyGardening4 күн бұрын
@TheRipeTomatoFarms I'm most excited about all the different variety of pepper seeds and tomato seed I've collected over the past couple months! I Love peppers sweet and hot! But also I have alot of berry's i planted last season that I'm hoping will produce a little better this year. I'm trying hardy kiwi but I'm not sure it will survive. And so far I'm enjoying making videos, just hope I'll get some more viewers eventually. Maybe when spring gets closer

@TheRipeTomatoFarms if you haven't grown it before try mad hatter peppers, that's my absolute favorite so far very very mild spiciness but the flavor is incredible 👌

New Subscriber here! 😍 Want to start my indoor herb journey (I have a food/travel magazine, where I want to document progress.) I love your videos but I'm commenting here since your last "indoor herbs" vids were awhile ago. I have a question if you would allow: I have a 14x32 radiator cover under my kitchen window, do I need a windowsill "greenhouse" for my future potted herbs or can I have the future potted herbs on the cover / windowsill in the imdoor open air? Also- will I have an issue with like pests, spider mites, etc? Sorry for the questions but I rather ask a pro than invest time and money for naught. Thank you in advance, great channel and you do have a new fan either way!
