Aw. You’re so sweet for showing is that, and explaining all the particulars. 💋 They look very nice with the brick too.

Beings you only went 2 high, on the bottom row you should've put flat side up and top row flat side down that way they would fit nicely together. Either way it looks great. $250 DIY compared to what $1000 for a company to come in and do it.

3 high on the right half. And to be honest, the flat bottoms look unnatural.

Easy tip to do without mortar is to put the bottom row upside down so the flat surface from the bottom row touches the flat surface of the top row.
@SinnerSince19623 жыл бұрын
There is no flat surface on these stones. They are textured on every side.

@@SinnerSince1962 that's crazy. I would have thought that at least one side would be flat. oh well.

So u put paver base before put the block on right? And how you do the next lever where the slope ? U still put paver base too ?
@angeliquehoward12382 жыл бұрын
Looks GREAT! I have the exact same stones and plan to do pretty much the same thing on a very similar slope. Can you tell me if you used any type of gravel behind the wall and how you did the French drain? I have looked and looked and this is the only video I've found that's close to what I've been searching for. I'm in South Texas so freezing and defrost won't be an issue with heavy rain from time to time.

Great look, love them! Naive question, can having plants by the house impact house structure (due to watering, etc)?
@garrettscott94272 жыл бұрын
That would depend on the type of foundation that you have. For slab on grade it wouldnt be an issue unless you consistently flooded the area. Gardens against the slabs is very common in Oklahoma and Texas.

Did you remove the old sod first and add garden soil on top ?
@garrettscott94274 жыл бұрын
there was never sod there since the builder put a cheap garden in the same spot before I improved it.
You did a really good job...it looks great! Are these the mini blocks (3×8) or the larger ones (4×11)? Also, how did you do the footing?
@garrettscott94274 жыл бұрын
4x11. I only did a compacted foundation made of paver base. If you live up north then a more solid base will probably be needed. It's been nearly 2 years and I have had zero issues.
