@@SimpleLifePortugalyes……I get it! I’m in the long run of finishing exterior of two rental houses and just exposed dry rot & ant damage on the Seel of the home! But both are rented and I am returning back to consulting work fulltime to knock it put & get it done! Clover has such a nice scent. Home grown tomatoes taste so good! The patio going all around the house will really expand the living space if you make it wide enough to accommodate seating too. It should help with long term maintenance on the house also. Your progress is so fast.

A garden is a living thing. It is bound to be changing all the time. Enjoy all your visions come to life. I have some of those wetland plant your neighbor gave here in Wellington, Western Cape, South Africa too at the bottom boundary of our backyard. We call them rushes. There are a few different types of them.

Our weather has been changing a lot. Colder, too much sand from Sahara several times, and so much rain. I used to say, since my childhood, that we use to have three hundred days of marvelous blues skies and marvelous sunny days. Now I have to change it...we are in May and the rain continues. I believe where you live is worse. Good for agriculture, as we use to say. So many projects! So good to watch your positiveness, even if now, you are just motivated to produce something for the Sundays, I believe you it will change, little by little. Wish you a marvelous week!

Hi Dan, the plant in the wetland is papyrus, I guess its in the right place, it needs sun and water. You could make paper from the fibres (if you run out of jobs around the land )😁 😁

@marleenduc6582 Papyrus grows very quickly and will take over a big part of his land. I am not suggesting to plant that tree, because I had it at my back yard of my house, and as it grew took all the sidewalk and covered my kitchen's veranda. So we cut it and we take it's roots with escave tor.

Everything you've worked on looks really good. Each thing you take on just transforms your place... and in a relatively short time. I'm not sure you've planted enough. Definitely not enough potatoes. Do you not like them so much? Theu can make fast lunches when nuked then topped with thing you like woth them. Maybe you're not ready to process produce you don't eat right away? Bc we'd need to clean chop freeze, or cook then freeze, or can for poo roduce-less times. You're looking a lot less lean, whoch is good given all your physical output. You don't have to nom high caloric stuff and probably didn't before, please just make sure you're taking in a good amount of good stuff for to power your body and care for the boys, the Stevies, and the chickens. 💖 I'm a cat (and squirrel) purrson, i adore the chatty and needy Stevies. If i'm ever lucky to visit Portugal, i hope to stop by and love on them and the doggos, and maybe the chickens, and volunteer potter around (be underfoot) 😊.

You probably recieve many ideas...there seems to be a repetitive hobbit inspired areas...wood pile area, the dog house, the bit of fire pit...it would be neat if an idea could develop for shade/some shelter idea for the garden room idea...create a vine/ built structure that mimics these other "nooks and crannies" on the homestead...just a random idea...thank you for including us on the homestead planning poetion of your days.

I think a walk in tool shed is a brilliant idea Dan, so much easier for you to have all your tools together. A lovely patio around the house will look amazing, nothing better than walking barefoot.
