That lady statue is called "Hebe" and she's the goddess of Youth. I have the same one! She's about five feet tall. Sometimes I put a candle in her cup or lately,birdseed. I am dying to get out in the garden today,I've deferred too much of my garden clean-up. I love the idea of overplanting Guara!!! Going to try that in a sunny,from bed!

hey, you should doodle up a map of your garden, mostly just the paths, and keep it on the corner of the screen, and when you reach a new area of the garden simply have a red dot appear there!! It would be much better to understand the layout of your garden that way, its so big I always get lost in your videos :0

Beautiful home and landscape! Don't feel bad about removing trees. I took out 3 massive white oaks off my property. They were all over 150 years old, and easily over 100 feet tall.....cost me about $7,000 to get them off my property. I replaced them with Chinese plum trees, fig trees & nectarine trees....... I love trees, but the white oaks were throwing way to much shade in my yard......make a huge difference once they were removed.....

Miss Laura, you don't want the chickens too far away from the house/barn area... It makes it that much more work to feed them and to get the coop cleaned out, as well as to get the eggs every day. Don't forget about that, as well as the fact that it is a pleasing sight to see every day, knowing you're getting your eggs fresh. People love to know that, and sit about watching the birds. I know lots of folks who raise their own birds who enjoy the birds right front & center. Justin Rhodes on KZbin is someone you should check out in regards to his chickens and how he raises them. =) Love seeing the house/yard areas Laura, you've got a lovely place. 🌾Merry meet 🌿

We rent in London, England right in the centre and we're so lucky to have a back area. It was mostly concrete but we've transformed it. We used to have a big tree too but it got cut down last year and. Totally get you about my trees seeding. This one would actually drop its leave stalks and they rooted everywhere they fell. Excited to se your garden change!

Wow. I’ve never seen that much snow. I was watching the vlog of clearing off the roof and you walking around the house on the roof and it gave me major panic!!!! I’m so thankful you guys didn’t get hurt. That was crazy!!! So that was 4 years ago and we had 12 inches here in OK and we were freaking out. I could never have gotten on the roof. Our roofs are pretty steep so not as much stays on it. Anyway I can tell your anxious to see how your garden is after the snow melts. I feel the same way. I’ll have to see in a couple of months the damage. -14 here is going to kill a lot. Hope you never face that much snow again.

My husband and I really enjoy them. Remember think Martha Stewart. I love that you will be growing vegetables this year, me too! I'm sure that you get tired of the snow (especially that much of it). Here in Charlotte, NC we get very little snow, mostly ice, so I love and miss the snows we used to get in VA. Your gardens are beautiful, even in the snow! I'd try to focus on the good that it does people with wells and how it effects the levels in rivers, creeks, streams and ponds. I love snow! 💜

Great to see the garden under it's snowy blanket! I love a longer video. Exciting plans! Although it's a shame to see mature trees felled I do think you have to make a garden your own! I hear you on the electrical poles. We have/had 3, one we got buried, one can't be removed no matter what, the other is a street light and wire runs from one pole to the other all the way down the south lawn. City is being difficult about removing streetlight. It's on a quiet street and only lights my and my neighbor's driveway entrance and he's ok with it being removed. Ugh so frustrating.

Random question, How do you plow a pebble driveway and not move around all the stones into places you don't want them? I want to start using pebbles in pathways in my yard, but I'm afraid winter plowing will mess up my work. Thanks!
@klharndt
@klharndt 6 жыл бұрын
I have gravel (pebble size) driveway and have had it plowed in past (I now snow blow it). I wouldn't call for a plow until there was 6" or more of snow and I had driven on it a bit to pack it down (I have SUV). That way, the truck doesn't plow off the gravel. That said, my driveway is crowned to facilitate water runoff and occasionally the plow would hit the high center at an angel and plow some gravel. When that happened, I would rake it in spring.
