Kathy, this was a very pleasant and calm video and in today's chaotic world it was very nice to watch for a change. You have a lovely puppy family and a beautiful piece of property. Your comments and suggestions were very interesting and helpful. You must be a very good teacher! Thank you for sharing and for the brief respite from all the worry. Blessing to you and yours!

Hi Kathy! I sure did enjoy your video. It is so wonderful seeing your garden and your dogs. It looks like you are keeping so busy with your lovely garden and chickens. How long will it be before you have chicken eggs? I have a couple of cousins in Southern Illinois who have chickens for laying eggs. I think it took them about a year or so to get eggs. Thank you again for a great video. Love and Hugs from Iowa!

Hi Marla, It's so nice to hear from you. I'm so glad that you enjoyed the video. Thank you so much for all of your kind words. I'm not positive about when we will see our first eggs but we're hoping for some time in October. I hear that they will lay through the winter for their first year. They seem like they are happy with their set up so we'll just have to wait and see. TFW and for taking the time to leave such a lovely comment. Take good care:) God Bless Cathy

To go from being a vegan to killing your own birds that you have raised doesn't make any sense at all, bad enough eating meat from the supermarket if you have to, but how you can look at those birds knowing your going to kill them and eat them is beyond me :o(

Hi Irene, Yes, it is not easy but I pay enormous amounts of money to feed my family organic poultry. I also believe that it may be convenient to buy from the store but the truth is the animals are often not treated very well and it just saves me from the truth which is that there is a life taken to get the food to the store. While being a vegean I became deficient in some things my body needed to function to be healthy. I had to return to some meat. It is not something I like doing but I'm trying to be courageous, treat them well, and face the truth. I'm also trying to be sure that my family has the ability to eat no matter what else is going on in the world. I hope this helps to make some sense of this. Thank you so much for watching and for leaving a thoughtful comment. Take good care. God Bless Cathy
