Yes me too my friend it's really good healthy food. I try to eat at least one everyday. The cover photo on this video is my best Papaya plant. I gave your sister seeds from the best fruit on this plant. Hope they grow well for you. This is a special strain I got from Thailand I and have been selectively breeding this strain for 10 years now. So I've made it even better now. The papaya plant in the photo is the best tasting and bears the most amount of fruit. It's a "Thai Dwarf" Red Papaya strain. All the seeds grow into self-pollinating female plants that all bear fruit... no male plants... only females and they don't even need males. This strain should set its first fruits in less than 12 months. They should do even better in the tropics. Good luck with them my friend. They are my babies. My best papaya from many years of care. 👍 ❤🙂

Too much infos 🥰 my head cant remember all since i am not a gardener but saving this vid will help. A lot thankyouu
@localtime8242 жыл бұрын
True my friend. I try to give a lot of useful info. Hope some people find some value in that. Yes well hopefully this video is here on KZbin for all time now. Hopefully this video will live longer than me hehe. Hope its good for beginners and hope I add some interesting info the the more experienced growers too. I never went to college.. I've been a mostly a self taught organic farmer since I started on my first farm when I was 23. That's nearly 40 years ago. I admit there's some things I will never know as well, or talk about as well, as a college educated farmer.. But there is things I know that they don't know too. There is things I learnt from actually "doing it" , for a very long time.. not studying or talking about it, but actually doing it. But did I work on big commercial "non organic" farms for about 5 years before I started on my own small farm and went organic. So I tried to learn from the experienced farmers too, and back then none of those experienced farmers went to college too, they learnt it from their Dad, and they were still good farmers. 🙂. One of the sad things about college educated farmers and nurserymen etc. is a lot of good farming knowledge is getting lost. All of the small family farms.. ohhh they have so much good farming knowledge. But back then, 40 years ago all of the so called "experts" here in my country said it was impossible to grow organic, and they would laugh at me when I said I was going to start an organic farm. But as a young man I was doing it and making profits in the first 6 months. 🙂 Thanks very much for your comments and questions my dear friend. ❤🙂

@localtime8242 жыл бұрын
Ohhh really? Thats sad my friend 😢 Thats were you need my "Red Dragon" papayas... I just buy the seeds last Spring. The seed supplier says its his best tasting Red Papaya and they start making fruits in only 3 months, from seed... Plant the seed and in only 3 months they start making fruits.. so fast... I have one Red Dragon that is setting fruit right now... You can see my bigger Red Dragon papaya right at the end of this video.. I still have not tasted the fruit but WOW it grows so fast.. Its a SUPER papaya... And if its tastes as good as the seed supplier says its a WINNER my friend. I want to grow much more of those Red Dragon papaya.. The other papayas I have are my own special seeds and I "selectivly breed" them for 9 years now, and they are nice, they are quite good.. ... But I had to try this "Red Dragon papaya"... I think it could be really extra good.. I wish I had 100 in the ground hehe. Thanks so much for dropping by my dear friend... Hope you can grow and pick some nice papaya soon. ❤🙂

Your papaya looks so good. Did you ever sell the seeds?😊
@localtime8242 жыл бұрын
Hii Nadia. Thanks so much for watching. I'm not selling seeds but I will send 20 seeds from my best plant to any subscribers who want some. My best plant is the plant in the cover pic. While stocks last. But there is still a fair bit of "variation" with this strain. The plants you grow will be different but they still should be quite good. Out of 20 seeds you might get 2 or 3 plants that look like this plant, its hard to say for sure. With this last batch of trees I planted it was roughly 1 plant out of every 20 looked like the parent plant, the plant on the cover pic... But this is the 3rd time now, I've grown 20 or 30 plants and then taken the seeds from the best parent plant, chopped the others out and and then grown the seeds from the best parent plant 3 times now, and this next time it will be even better, and all of the other plants are getting a lot better too. Did you find me here from FaceBook? If you send me a private message to FaceBook with a screenshot proving you are a subscriber and your address I will send you 20 seeds, FREE, no cost. :-) I'd like to keep this strain alive too, it's been a good hobby selectivly breeding this strain for the last 10 years, I'm quite happy with it now, but it can still get better, and I'm not sure what my future is going to bring. Thanks again for droping by. :-)

Papayas are one of the healthy fruit. There's a lot of papayas also here in Philippines ❤️
@localtime8242 жыл бұрын
Hi ya Kate. Yes papayas really are an amazing plant that gives amazing food. They're so different to all the other trees and plants. You're lucky in the Philippines, papayas grow much better there. They love the tropics. It gets a little too cold for them down here in the sub-tropics, but its still ok. Thanks so much for droping by my friend. ❤🙂

@localtime8242 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much dear Marian. Yes they're all looking very healthy in this video. They love the hot Summer weather and I gave them lots of plant food in Spring. It's such a luxury having lots of yummy ripe papayas. All I can eat, plus more to give away. The ripe fruits are only just slowing down now. Because the nights are getting cold now, Winter is coming soon.. But I still eat 2 or 3 ripe papayas everyday. 👍❤🙂

So chemicals in the soil helps too? I thought its just the pesticides and the grower
@localtime8242 жыл бұрын
I only pretty much only use organic fertilisers my friend. Mostly I use a fertiliser called "Dynamic Lifter Organic", it's great stuff. Its mostly chicken manure with some extra Blood and Bone and seaweed. Then I use the Organic Sugar Cane mulch, that is not high in nutrients but its still very good for all plants. Then I add a little Bird guano, thats bird poo, it's organic and very high in organic phosphorous. Then I add a little "sulphate of potash" thats organic certified too. Pretty much the only fertiliser I add that is not organic is the "Trace Elements" but the plants only need a tiny bit of "Trace Elements" .. my soil is very sandy poor soil, and almost zero nutrients.. so it needs a lot of extra plant food and the trace elements are very important for good plant health.. especially in poor sandy soils. Then I use one pesticide.. and sadly its not organic.. but I have to use it or the "Fruit Spotting Bugs" will kill my trees... It's one of the more "safe" pesticides.. and I only have to use it every 3 or 4 months.. It's called "Permethrin" and its a pesticide that is used for "head lice" and is added to some skin creams and stuff like that.. Permethrin is a pesticide that can be put on the human body for lice and scabies and other skin problems.. sooo yea... I dont like using that.. But its not too dangerous.. and again if I did not use it the Fruit Spotting Bug would kill my papaya trees. So sadly I have to do it. But thats still very safe and clean fruit my friend.. much cleaner than store bought fruit... And no herbicides.. no weed killers like glyphosate... Glyphosate is in nearly everything these days.. its even in the rain.. its everywhere and most people in the world have glyphosate in our body.. And its really good for us to stop and give our body a rest from glyphosate. A lot of people have big improvements in their health if they can only eat foods with no glyphosate. Thanks for your question my friend. Hope that helps... too much info again? hahaha 😃 .. Sorry but that covers nearly everything haha. Now you know almost everything I do .. Hope that helps my friend. ❤🙂
