Garden Warfare 2 UPDATE RANT (It's Not Happening)

The Garden Fiesta was never my intention to bring any official support for the game but for the attention of the whole community. Like a family gathering for someone's birthday, you wouldn't do one every week no? The first one in my eyes was a success and IF any attention from the officials was to come from the fiesta than that's nothing more than just a bonus but a bloody big one. The second fiesta wasn't something I wanted to do nor did I even plan properly, way too soon and it was being hyped up by people on reddit and youtube. That one did fail in my opinion. I do appreciate you bringing up my issues with people running the fiesta especially when they have no influence in the community for this game and have no idea what the concept of a novelty and a special occasion is. You were spot on with my opinons on the matter but just didn't have the balls to talk about such publically. As for dersir, I did watch his video and immediately saw the BS and the over exaggeration and I do think he needs be semi realistic instead of throwing the word 'update' in every sentence but no disrespect to him as a person he is chill. As for me I'm alive for now at least, I don't see myself returning to this scene to be completely honest but I appreciate the wishes mate. Thanks❤

Thanks for stopping by. I had heard that you weren't keen on the second fiesta, we spoke before about that one Reddit post of the guy trying to plan GF3 and I went against my idea of doing a video on it to back you up, but thought it linked in with this current 'situation' so I touched on it in this video. Sucks to hear you're probably not returning, but I could tell the toxicity of the community was taking its toll on you. Take care.

I think they could get a skilled modder to change the mystery portal rotation, of course they would choose not to but I think that is possible.

I wanna say that if GW2 "was" gonna get an update when the servers were shut down. Then why would both GW1 and BFN get the same treatment too? Because that wouldn't make any sense as if it was only just gonna update GW2. Then GW1 and BFN would just be normal. Idk why people would instantly jump to conclusions when they thought GW2 was down, even though all three games were down. Something I won't know.

A lot of people try to be optimistic about a return to the beloved PVZ games as well as giving their ideas for updates that are just unrealistic. I'll be as nice as I possibly can with what I'm about to say: Modern Popcap is not the Popcap from the PVZ renaissance (which had PVZ 2 and the Garden Warfare series, by the way). Let's accept that, move on, and make our own content with mods and fangames, made by fans, for fans. Speaking of which, I'm planning to make a GW2 series on my channel. The game may most likely never get updated, but that doesn't mean I can't download mods to play the content that people love.

That's also true, something I probably should have mentioned is that with the recent updates to PVZ1 Free and Heroes that were widely panned, the idea of EA and PopCap updating GW2 might not be such a good thing after all if it was to happen.

Someone needed to say it, good stuff. I do feel bad because I put a good effort into making Garden Fiesta 2 as big as it could be with my participation and video to spread the word. I didn't consider how it would only fuel the fire of people wanting it more often and how much it would devalue the event as a whole. The end of 2024 was pretty eventful for the community, so there's nothing wrong with slowing things down for a bit.

Hey, sorry for the later comment on this! I’d also like to take this as an opportunity to apologize for being an inadvertent instigator for a few of the trends you called out in the community. I 100% enabled the second Garden Fiesta when I shouldn’t have, which led to the whole “weekly garden fiesta” proposals that ran rampant for a while. Luckily, due to combined efforts from many people, the movement died down, but the initial damage has been done. I’ve actually been asked if I should do something about Shepard editing that handful of forum posts, but what really is there to add? Merely acknowledging the existence of people constantly badgering them doesn’t mean that an update will occur. It’s great to want support, but we have to be realistic! I’m hoping that the freak timing of the server shutdown and Dersir’s video don’t spiral out of control too much, for the reasons you described in the video. Great to get those thoughts out there!

@@GNVS300 The ranking video I had set as a “what-if” scenario from the get-go, but I wanted to get it out there when the topic was still hot. I have found that since the EA Shepard stuff has gone down, people have been icier on average towards my GW3 theoretical even though I’ve been doing it long before that forum came to be lol. Until things wind down a little, I’m more reluctant to mention the topic as to avoid stirring the pot more than it already has been.

Funnily enough i have high hopes, what makes me say that? Well, it kind of reverts back to my story of my life so far. After moving out of my old house in april of 2020 my life started going down. My pets got lost, family deaths happened, and my dad was an alcoholic. Everyone in my family tried to convince him to go into rehab but didnt work. Eventually i had to convince him and let me tell you that was by far the bardest i had ever done. Bc of that experience i stayed in my room most of the time just missing the old times. I became a very nostalgic person. I decided to come to christ and he saved my life by showing me i cant go on without him. I would pray for this game and other stuff to come back bc i sinply wanted to relive my childhood one last time. About a week ago i lost hope. Im reading the bible and im thinking why would ask of something like a game, old memories, stuff i used to do to come back? It doesnt really matter. Despite really wanting it, i kept it out my mind, the same thought comes back a couple minutes later and literally the exact second it came back i read over this verse, St.John chapter15:16, "Ye have not chosen me, but i have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain whatsoever ye shall ask of the father in my name, he may give it you". Immediately sent chills down me. Suddenly i had regained all hope as if i just woke up inside. I say dont lose hope nor worry but also let the lord lead you for his plan is perfect

Also with how long its been i feel like updates would almost... Ruin the game? Hear me out, its been the same so long nothing new we are all happy and i feel like new characters and stuff would really throw off the balance that the community has established, also many of the bugs like bean riding that we see as viable features were markes as needing to be fixed before discontinuing the game, also some of the coolest things would be gone, like i find it incredibly and awesome that its really easy to find people all the time due to the size of the player base, i have had 2 people lolito and chocolatey milkz that have been my rivals for years but we have never purposely joined each other yet always recognized each other! If the game revived that would not happen and its one of the things that give charm and risk to interacting with others.

@GNVS300 Believe me, when I first saw your Giants video my eyes popped out of my sockets. I discovered Skylanders like a year ago and it feels as if I knew about it since childhood, and apparently, everyone is jumping back to Skylands. I even got a friend of mine into Skylanders as well, and he's now playing the first two games on his Wii since they're the cheapest to obtain. Also, the Wii version of SSA is the best one from my point of view, as the spells in the Kaos fights don't have just 1 or 2 patterns, but multiple (unlike the PS3 version). The Hydra doesn't even mix attacks in the PS3 edition as far as I know.
