Every time I see Laura knock drip out like the Champ she is, I want to give her a high-five for being a bad-a$$ inspirational role model. Congrats on finding a potential new garden invention to improve your outcomes. The pop of white cloth draws your eye to the beautiful flower shed and fences too. ❤

This may sound like a strange comment but I really liked how you had just the sound of the tool working while you were roughing up the soil, as opposed to overlaying it with music. I’d so much rather hear the “gardening sounds.” Thanks for everything you do. Your channel is fantastic!

Another Saturday video. It's raining in Georgia ,much needed rain for the pollen was so thick in the air yesterday that when it started to sprinkle rain,clumps of wet pollen was falling. The strangest thing to see,it was on my clothes an in my hair before I got into the house. The rain picked up an cleaned the air for now. Everything looks so bright and green this morning, tho rain is still coming in showers. I think everything grew a foot over night. My iris opened up that's a joy to see those blooms for so many early spring blooms are gone already. Dogwoods are blooming. Looks more like Spring now ,I'm sure the azaleas will bloom in a few days they are full of buds.
@BobbieJeanM7 ай бұрын
I love that spring comes so early in the South! My grandparents lived in Georgia and a few times we were there to enjoy the blooms much earlier than they would open at home! My grandmother loved gardening and even developed new iris colors. The story is that some of the “fine ladies” from Atlanta would go out to Clarkston where they lived to buy her iris. Must have been around 1930ish since my mother was born in 1918 in Key West, then they moved to the mountains and then Clarkston. He was a Methodist minister so they were called to different places. 😊 I think that’s where my love of gardening came from because even though my father grew up on a farm, he didn’t like it at all! Sorrow for going down so many rabbit holes, definitely an increasing trend as my age (71) increases! 👵🏻
@jenatucker4927 ай бұрын
I am in Georgia also. Yes I am loving the evidence of spring all around us. Now it's just a matter of finding the time ( when it's not raining) to go work in my yard! Yippee 😊

@@BobbieJeanM Loved your rabbit hole. I am not far from Clarkston, in Stone Mountain, and would love to know where your grandparents property was. It would be wonderful to see any remnants of those iris. I will be more diligent on my drives through Clarkston, making up my own backstory when I pass a stand of iris. Thank you!

Planting Ranunculus is one of my favourite things to do in spring! It declares the arrival of spring seeing those green foliage in your garden! I have no idea in what zone I am, I never searched it to find out. I’m living in the northern of Hellas🇬🇷 Last year I didn’t dig up my ranunculus… I don’t store them, I cut them down and left them in the ground… Risky? Sure, but I just wanted to see what will happen. What did it happen? They all came out this year!!! During January and February I covered the area with a plastic wrap to they don’t rot in the wet soil and then I uncovered the area. To my amazement, they are all in excellent shape and their foliage is 100% healthy 🤷🏻♂️🤩 That tunnel looks amazing! So easy to put together and you can water the plants under it so easily! Honestly, I’m tempted to get one…
@sp96007 ай бұрын
I had one ranunculus come up after winter. I apparently missed it when pulling them out to store. Now I have babied that one with covering as we hit 19-22 F this mid to late march in Pa(zone 5/6).

@@sp9600 sometimes I think we are overprotective with plants that appears they can survive in our climate… Apparently they cannot survive all climate conditions but they are looking pretty good here 🇬🇷 and I don’t intend to dig them the store them any more! We can try and see if a plant can adapt and survive in our area.
@Kolious_Thrace7 ай бұрын
@@coloraturaElise thanks! I don’t really knew about that and I got flowers and trees without considering it like… I’ve never seen zones in plant tags… I pretty much know my area and always get plants that I assume they will grow here, and they do!? 🤷🏻♂️ I wasn’t familiar with that…

That kit is genius. I'm so happy for you Laura, it seems like you are way ahead this Spring then from previous years. A lot because the weather has been more cooperative, but your organization and learning from past years to get things started early so you get your biggest bang for your time. It has been so rewarding to watch and learn. When I get my raised beds (waist high because I have back problems and I'm older), I'm going to use drip tape. I used 1/4-inch tubing last time and it was a nightmare. Oh, I'm so excited to see everything start blooming. I won't be able to garden this year and I am missing it, but thanks to Laura I get to do it vicariously.

Neversink tools are awesome. I have their seed starting trays that air prune the roots. They are super heavy duty and because they air prune, you can get a much larger plant without having to pot them up. They can be a little pricey, but the quality of what tools I do have from them is bar none. I bet you could drive a tractor over the trays and they wouldn’t break.
