🌿 I guess she can do whatever she wants. However, she is trying to stay within the guidelines. Gardening Know How says: Moon gardening at night is a great way to enjoy white or light-colored, night blooming plants, in addition to those that release their intoxicating aromas in the evening. White flowers and light-colored foliage reflect the moonlight. Not only are these a beautiful sight to behold, or smell, but these night gardens also attract important pollinators, such as moths and bats. Keep reading for ideas for a moon garden. Laura, here’s what I think about rules in the garden: throw them out, thrown them WAY out! Gardens are a personal representation of us! That’s the only rule we should follow. I love how precise you are with your word choices, and how clearly you can describe your thought processes with plants and in the garden, so I thought you might want to be reminded that things happen "by" accident, rather than "on". (As in "she put the poison ON the table BY accident. It's not a grammar thing, just a logic one. :D) If not, and that's just the way you say it where you are, carry on! No correction or criticism implied. I admire and respect how you listen to and consider comments but don't always agree or change your mind about how you approach things - that's so refreshing. Rules in a moon garden? Pshaw! All those textures together on the table looks so interesting. I have a weakness for white blooms and blue foliage because of the calm they bring to a garden. Not even the boldest white flower could be considered obnoxious, and they look cool and crisp even in 100-degree heat. You have chosen well, my dear. The whole west side is just going to glow this summer. This, and the planned rose garden are the projects I'm most excited about on your property. Btw, for cleome, say klee-oh-mee. No other color could stand alone as the only color in a garden. White flowers are magical, and I can't wait to see the moon garden come to life! I have a small patch of a moon garden, but I confess to having a few blue blues and some pale lavender flowers in mine. The pale lavender shades ( mostly petunias) glow at twilight. I ordered from PW for the first time this year, a big order (for me!), and mostly annuals which I have very little experience with. It arrived on April 22, which meant it was supposed to be OK to go in the ground then. But it really wasn't because we've had this crazy cold (I'm in Connecticut). So......I scrambled to cover them. Some are doing OK; some are not. I'd LOVE to learn more about which plants really need to wait.
