Kochia is an excellent drought resistant herb best for summer season in gardens.Its common names are:
Burning Bush
Summer Cypress
Mexican fire weed etc.
Its Scientific name is Kochia scoparia or Bassia scoparia.
It belongs to family: Amaranthaceae
Order: Asparagales
The plant is native to Eurasia.

Thanks for this! A very impressive plant. If I want to keep it to a certain size and with an ornamental shape - could I just simply trim it in the shape I want? If so, what time of the year is the best moment? Or maybe scoparia cannot be trimmed at all?
