SoC would beat Radagon any day though. You mentioned it literally being every lord of cinder combined. Gwyn alone would beat Radagon. No character ever did anything even remotely as legendary as he did. Godfrey led a war against giants then was exiled and Marika let her husband do the bidding just to cast him aside and with Radagon (who is equal power with her) being on even scaling grounds with SoC, he wasn’t even able to beat SoC who wouldn’t even be canonically as powerful as Gwyn because it wouldn’t have included him in his prime but rather AFTER. Gwyn on the other hand didn’t face giants like Godfrey or exile his spouse like Marika, nope. Instead, Gwyn faced DRAGONS, destroyed them, created a whole new age, prolonged the fire, proceeded to pass down the torch (to chosen undead) and create a legacy which countless other Lords would follow, and continued to fight against the resistance of the all powerful age of dark that included Manus (who literally corrupted one of the most canonically powerful characters in the whole series).

If more Dark Souls bosses found their way into Elden Ring through mods, I hope people don't neglect some Dark Souls 2 bosses. Bosses like Burnt Ivory King, Sir Alonne, Fume Knight, and Velstadt would be great additions. (Velstadt specifically, giving that man fits perfectly into Elden Ring aesthetic) I know chances of this happening are low, giving people would be more focused on DS3 bosses, but a man can dream...

Loved this... As for who is "cononically" stronger? Tbh it's impossible to tell since it's hard to compare the two universes even with our outside perspective. But assuming they are working on a similar sort of scale? I'd say soul of Cinder is Stronger than Radagon is by himself. Cinder is an amalgam of countless champions from across the ages who had the strength of will and might to link the fire, an act that is no easy feat. And even then, if all else fails, it can still summon up the remnants of the power of Gwyn. Radagon is powerful, a champion of the Golden Order and now, one with Marika. But he can still fall to one Tarnished champion, and while the Tarnished are on the whole likely stronger than the main character's of dark souls he's fighting all of their strongest united together in one will. Just my thoughts.
@BairdOThello Жыл бұрын
I would think that the Tarnished and Ashen One are around the same level if it was the same scale. Even though the Ashen One hasn’t slayed any “gods”, I think that Gael, Soul of Cinder, and Midir are some of the most powerful bosses. Especially since Gael basically ate all of the Dark Souls. But I also think that the Soul of Cinder is more powerful than Radagon.
@ryanlaurie8733 Жыл бұрын
@@BairdOThello Oh I don't disagree on that point. The beings slain by the Ashen One are no joke. It's just that Elden Ring kinda apes the "power" factor and dials everything up to 11. Elden Ring just *feels* more raw and powerful in general, but that's probably just a result of it being newer.

@BairdOThello Жыл бұрын
@@LuM4rex I wouldn’t say that the Nameless King is a full on god, but he must be pretty close since he may have been called the god of war at one point. But I may be mistaken, and maybe he is a god. The Soul of Cinder is definitely a more “up to discussion” type of thing due to the fact that we don’t really know much about the timeline or exactly how powerful the Soul of Cinder really is. However, I believe that it’s safe to say that the Soul of Cinder is incredibly powerful. I would say from the perspective of lore, the Soul of Cinder is more powerful than the Nameless King, or at least close to being god level if not on god level.
@BairdOThello Жыл бұрын
@@ryanlaurie8733 I agree, Elden Ring does feel more flashy and powerful, but I also think that is mostly because of the refined system and mechanics. Not everything in the game is designed to be exactly like the lore, so we still don’t have much of an actual idea.

Do you understand what a show is? What real comparison are we talking about? It's just impossible to compare the bosses of games from 6 years ago. Different damage rates in games, and bosses that will work in their native environment. For example, SoC DS3 from two phases has about 10 thousand HP, while only Radagon in the first one has about 13 .. And there is also Elden Beas (about 22k hp). Do not do nonsense guys, disputes here are a useless and stupid undertaking.

Radagon’s probably the best fight in the series imho.
@christianlangdon3766 Жыл бұрын
@@BlacklistedSoupnaw man, most of the guys difficulty comes from attacking off screen via teleports and aoe attacks. If good game design is meant to be jerking the camera and having vague hit boxes since the aoes are all different boxes from the attacks that activate them. Than dks2 bosses are about on par from a design standpoint.
@leithaziz2716 Жыл бұрын
@@BlacklistedSoup I mainly disagree because of two things. 1. After swinging his hammer, Radagon has a chance to follow up with a ranged attack and throws out a bunch of light arrows. He does this so fast to the point that you have to instinctively dodge after the first hammer swing. But if you do this, then there's a chance Radagon will instead followup with another hammer swing. 2. Radagon's teleporting is pretty obnoxious. Since he can do it in neutral, you'll swing your weapon and he will usually teleport back in the middle of your attack and hit you. Other times he will do a followup attack after the teleport and be be readying for an attack. The followup comes out so fast that once again you pretty much have to guess, but if you guess wrong you end up rolling into the next attack. We've seen the Teleporting gimmick handled in a much better way: the Twin Princes in Dark Souls 3. VG Matthew goes more in-depth about Radagon's problem in his ER boss critique video.

@neilshewmaker9241 Жыл бұрын
I think the reason SoC lost the third matchup is due in some part to spamming his lightning attacks. Assuming the damage types for SoC’a attacks and resistances have been matched from his original game then he has an advantage against Radagon due to his primary damage type being Fire, which Radagon is weak to. However in the third matchup SoC kept using his lightning attacks which use holy damage, which Radagon is highly resistant to. Now if we’re going off lore scaling Radagon is likely stronger since he houses a somewhat complete Elden Ring in his body. Meanwhile the SoC is an expression of the souls which were sacrificed to keep the first flame going, and after thousands if not millions of cycles, the original power of the first flame has nearly completely faded, likely being the weakest flame within the soul of the boss. Since the Elden Beast is just the physical form of the Ring we can assume that gives him some sort of advantage when it comes to power scaling due to it being an outer god at or near the height of its power.
@KKKuma Жыл бұрын
Lightning damage is a different thing from holy damage. Lightning in Ds deal lightning damage. I don't think it is affected radagon holy res at all.
@SynX-. Жыл бұрын
If you want to analize the fight, it’s just unfair simply because they gave SoC too much health, even considering he has a full second fase, other than damage and resistance. If you analize it lore wise, it’s even more unfair, because Radagon would easly obliterate SoC. This is just a “show”
@hank4688 Жыл бұрын
Well, the third one was the only one with his og scaling, so that also plays a roll
@chuongvulenguyen2908 ай бұрын
@@SynX-. my comment is a bit late now, but you really think that's unfair ? SoC originally has the total of 10,766 hp combined two phases of him, and Radagon alone has 13,339 hp ( Both cases are inn NG). Not to say ER bosses are way more aggresive compared to most of DS bosses and the damage system works completely different (Example: The absorptions of Radagon are all higher compared to SoC). So if you want to enjoy cross-universes boss fights, just accept the scaling since it is the only way to make these fights possible

And it was in my opinion one of if not the best boss fight fromsoftware has ever made maybe besides Gael… but when I got to the final boss of elden ring my first thoughts were “seriously? We’re fighting in a tree? Against some half broken red head who’s also a chick?… cool?” And then when elden beast showed up my first thoughts weren’t filled with awe and wonder like SOC’s second phase no my first thought was “man it literally is just a giant space slug with a peen for a head” and let’s just say after all of that running around to kill it I was very sorely disappointed.
