I'd actually enjoy that, too. I got a little stoned last night and was pondering the effects of heavy metals and other contaminants on the plant and the consumer, mostly because I use a few ocean based (kelp/phytoplankton/fish poop) fertilizers.

Me too! I let my plants listen to heavy metal too. Metallica seems to be popular. Seriously though I use liquid kelp and have heard it could be an issue.

Great video as always brother. Thank you so much for everything you do. I've been growing for my wife who has stage 4 metastatic breast cancer for 2 years now. I couldn't help but notice that several individual "Liquid products", made with "around 96% water", like Humic and Fulvic Acids, Silica, and much more, are all available in your New "Stash Blend"! I know this is an older video, but of the many great supplements he goes through, I couldn't help not thinking of "Stash Blend". Something to be proud of!👍💯🙏✌️

Shout out to you Chris, I’ve listened to pretty much every garden talk 2-3 times minimum. Keep up the great interviews. I’ve learned a lot from your platform for sure. I personally think that anyone that smokes in a legal area should grow at least a small plant. I think that would really boost the normalization of weed.

Great interview man I always enjoy different perspectives. What I've learned through the years is even if you have some synthetic nutrients leftover or something, try to use them for a specific grow because it's pretty difficult to recycle stuff like that and you don't want it to end up in our waterways or environment. Just food for thought

When Brandon first came on, everything he said went over my head. Since then, I have been reading and experimenting and I can know listen to him and understand better. But I do have a couple points to address. 39:15 I'd be scared to use soybean meal. It's one of the most heavily GMO'd things on the market. 42:30 I don't use kelp meal for the NPK. I use it for the PGRs and auxins and I only use it in small amounts. If money is no object and you can afford to import cold pressed quillaja, it IS better.

This whole using organics for a plant you have in the soil for only a few months. Beneficial bacteria can form very quickly, but the fungi networks take too long to be part of the equation. The initial colonization takes weeks and the fungi network takes months. The fungi would only be working at the end of the grow.

About the azomite, i think homegrowers rarely have like 5 different trace mineral products. And i dont think they would be interesting in paying for them. I always thought of rock dust/azomite as a way to frontload trace minerals in a soil, if you dont test yor soil. I mean to use those sulphate type trace minerals, you sure would have to test the soil before knowing what and how much to add

I'm going to walk away informed but I retained about 7% of that discussion. I’ve been researching what Silica product to use and it would be my only non OMRI addition to my grow. I was looking into PowerSi, Impellobio Dune, Montana Grow, diatomaceous earth, and wollastonite. I’m going crazy trying to decide what to use. Any suggestions would be much appreciated as I’m concerned about the powder from DE and Woll. I’ve read that the food grade DE is fine but I’m still skeptical. After this video, it’s time to research Agsil16H. Amazing video! Thanks guys!

De works well for me, I have little or no problems with pests and diseases, and my plants are strong and healthy with stalks like tree branches. Add early, before the planting if possible and topdress again later in veg. Humic and fulvic acids and a healthy mycorrhizae of beneficial bacteria and fungi fed with carbohydrates will all help digest and make it available quickly, even better if you're using live worms in your soil for castings and nutrient conversion. It's the only one of those that's truly naturally occurring and organic.
